“A little squib in the local press mentioned that Biden had appeared 4 hrs. late and had spoken to a crowd of EIGHTY at the Wisconsin Club (a posh, private club) in Milwaukee.

People familiar with the behind the scenes workings of campaigns in general and this campaign in particular point out that the reason he was late was that there were no people to fill the room. Others who were on the spot said that aides were rushing around and buttonholing any live body to come into the fundraiser for free to hear the VP — Wisconsin Club staffers, regular members there on other business, etc.”

That’s awesome!

“Bottom line: no help and a poor attitude.”

Why does that not shock me?

Theoretically, yes. But, I think people are sitting on their cash, as well as their hands. A couple of weeks ago Biden had a high roller meeting over in Madison — a Dem stronghold. He addressed this group and told them that they were the “deadest” group that he had ever addressed in his life as a politician. That elicited a laugh, but that’s about it.

I hope that sitting on their hands and wallets reflects their refusal to back a loser, or better yet, their finally saying they’ve had enough. After giving to the Dems for a generation, what have these wealthy people gotten from them? Their businesses which (for most) generate their wealth are taxed and regulated to death. Maybe they think now is the time to reverse their fortunes. And their giving.

More Problems For Jay Inslee – Caught In A Lie After Ducking Local Medal of Honor Ceremony?

Following on the footsteps of debate video where he dodged questions about a potential run for WA Gov in 2012, WA Rep Jay Inslee finds himself in a new flap. A press release from his opponent James Watkins:

Jay Inslee lies after ducking local Medal of Honor ceremony
Attends luncheon with corporate CEOs

LYNNWOOD—Jay Inslee, 14-year Congressman and potential candidate for governor in 2012, was exposed as a liar in his debate Monday with challenger James Watkins.

Inslee missed a ceremony to rename a post office for local Medal of Honor recipient Bud Hawk, but it wasn’t because Inslee was in DC voting as he claimed. He was in fact at a luncheon with corporate CEOs in Seattle.

The issue arose when Inslee focused on his efforts to pass the bill in honor of Hawk in his opening remarks. Watkins, who had attended the ceremony, announced that Inslee wasn’t even there.

Calling the allegation “outrageous,” Inslee proclaimed he was in Washington DC, “voting [and] fulfilling my constitutional duty.” (See video. 6:48, 8:05)

“This is what Inslee says with loyal supporters in the same room. It alarms me to think what he does 2500 miles away in the back rooms of Washington, DC,” says Watkins. “1st District voters want and deserve a transparent government and real leadership.”
