Merkel says German multi-cultural society has failed

BERLIN (AFP) – Germany's attempt to create a multi-cultural society has failed completely, Chancellor Angela Merkel said at the weekend, calling on the country's immigrants to learn German and adopt Christian values.

Merkel weighed in for the first time in a blistering debate sparked by a central bank board member saying the country was being made "more stupid" by poorly educated and unproductive Muslim migrants.... ...A recent study by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation think tank showed around one-third of Germans feel the country is being "over-run by foreigners" and the same percentage feel foreigners should be sent home when jobs are scarce.

Nearly 60 percent of the 2,411 people polled thought the around four million Muslims in Germany should have their religious practices "significantly curbed."

Whose idea was it to include multiculturalism in Europe? Sounds like a Liberal idea to me.

All countries are having trouble with Muslim society in their homelands because they don't want to assimilate, they want to conquer.

Ah, the religion of pieces.

Sooner or later, that malignant tumor of faith will have to be cleansed.

Thank you for documenting the continued interest in this story. I hope that many folks who don’t visit FR every day will get a chance to read it.

Anyone that would have bothered to do a modicum of analysis on the idea of multicult would have come to the conclusion that the whole idea is preposterous and that it would end in conflict and failure.

The essence of culture is it’s core values. The core value of western culture is personal liberty with responsibility. That is the dominant value. Any other culture that abides by that will peacefully coexist in the western world. Any that doesn’t cannot. It’s simple logic - contradictions cannot exist.

Communism and to some extent socialism whose central value is state control over the individual cannot coexist with personal freedom, and thus western culture. Same with fascism. History has proven that.
And just the same with Islam. Personal freedom is anathema to Islam, so it can never coexist with western culture. History will prove that as well - the only question yet to be decided is which culture will win.

Buddhism, Hinduism don’t seem to have the same problem because they respect individual freedom, so they’re welcome to our culture.

Yeah, what’s the matter with you? You’ve posted this, now I’ve seen it. If I missed earlier postings, I should miss it, right Steely Tom?!

Let’s get the pace of posting down on FR. Heck, if we can get it down to one or two items an hour, THAT will make this place fun and interesting.

Actually, there’s a difference between the 1st 2 links you posted (on your “earlier” list) and the subsequent 4.

The 1st 2 are to previous postings of the exact same Yahoo article as posted here.

The previous 4 are to links regarding the same story but actually different articles about the story.

There is a difference.

I don’t mind seeing a story posted more than once. Since the old “bump to the top” doesn’t work any more, a particular story doesn’t get circulated as much as it used to, so unless you happen to catch it on the first run you won’t see it.

I would favor returning to the old system.

I did not see it here and thought it was an important story.. I do not want to step on other posters toes.. on the other hand if it sinks so low we never see it.. then it doesn’t get much distribution.. I guess bumping the story would help

“...being “over-run by foreigners.’” That’s how I felt last time I was in a large urban area (1.5 months ago.) In some places, they appear to be benign, peaceable folk; in others, they demonstrate overt hostility.

Duh I did not know bumping did not work any more

i agree it would be good to have back.. or maybe a daily archive link thread every 24 hours so we could catch things we missed

I was being sarcastic. The self appointed post police can be a little over the top sometimes.

Thanks for posting this, or I’d have missed it.

See post 9.

Apparently the new guideline for reposting an item is 4 hours since the last post. I wasn’t aware of it.

I might still prefer the old system. But I can see the pros and cons of both.

Islam is a political ideology which seeks to merge archaic and brutal religious law with the state. It is totally hostile and subversive to our Constitution, which mandates separation of church and state, religious freedom, and recognition of individual liberty . The Ayatollah Khomeini said, “Islam is nothing if it is not politics”.

The Germans, Europeans, and the United States should: 1) shut down immigration by Muslims; 2) recognize that Muslims are subversive; 3) outlaw mosques and sharia courts; 4) keep Muslims out of the military and government jobs; 5) stop treating Muslims as a religious group. Islam resembles National Socialism. Muslims should become ex-Muslims. They should wake up and join the 21st century.

Why not get Angela Merkel on The View...let those freak anti-Semites Behar and Goldbrick walk off the stage then

Merkel is right, but you know all the anti-Semite Islamophiles will be attacking her.

Also, do not blame Merkel for Germany’s PC. She is from East Germany (former GDR) and did not have all the racial and ethnic PC that the West Germans have )odd considering GDR was Commie). I bet Merkel and former Ost-Deutschers are just flabbergasted at all the PC given to people who live like Third World morons practicing a Faith of Hate and a Cult of Insanity
