Kentucky Republican Mike Wilson has launched a new campaign strategy in his attempts to unseat his Democratic rival. Wilson has launched MikeReynoldsUnplugged.com, a site for the constituents of Kentucky’s 32nd district to listen to Democratic Sen. Mike Reynolds in his own words. The latest soundbite: Reynolds describing his constituency as “rednecks.” Nice.

We can call each other “redneck” ...but if you aren’t one, you can’t use the term.

Mike Wilson Calls on State Senator Mike Reynolds to Apologize to Warren and Butler County Voters for Insulting Them

Reynolds caught on tape calling voters “redneck” for their political views

Bowling Green – Republican state Senate candidate Mike Wilson called on his opponent, Democrat
Mike Reynolds, to apologize to citizens in Warren and Butler Counties for calling people who oppose
taxpayer funded benefits for illegal aliens “redneck.”

Reynolds made the remarks in a discussion with
Western Kentucky University students about whether or not taxpayer funded health care should go to
illegal aliens. He referred to people who oppose such benefits as his “redneck constituency.”

“It is bad enough that Mike Reynolds supports Obama’s health care law and says it is one of the most
important things our country has ever done. But to call people ‘redneck’ for opposing taxpayer funded
health care for illegal aliens? That’s beyond acceptable and Reynolds should apologize immediately,”
Wilson said. “Further, if Mr. Reynolds holds those of us with conservative values in such contempt he
should leave the race.”

Mike Wilson’s campaign for State Senate released a radio ad this morning that uses Reynolds’ words to
educate voters about the insult he hurled at them.

Elsewhere on the tape, Reynolds admits that he had nothing to do with any job creation that has
occurred in Warren and Butler Counties during his time in office. Reynolds is now running political
advertising claiming he created jobs, but on the tape says: “I’d like to take credit but I can’t for, um,
four new factories in my district in my 18 to 19 months I’ve been in office.”

“I respect the conservative values of the people of Warren and Butler Counties. I strongly oppose
Obama’s federal takeover of health care, because it busts Kentucky’s budget, raises costs for most
people, and uses taxpayer dollars to fund abortions. I would never support using taxpayer dollars to
provide illegal aliens benefits. And I’d never insult my own constituents for having conservative values,”
Wilson said. “It’s time for a change. If you are as disgusted as I am with Mike Reynolds, I ask for your
vote on Election Day. In less than three weeks, we can show Mike Reynolds exactly what we think of his
insults.”

Just so you aren't surprised, some of the Mods have been pretty aggressive about keeping things from The Blaze in the 'Bloggers' forum.

Hopefully this year and next with the Governor’s race, Kentucky will clean house and kick all the democrat thieves out of office!

All the "rednecks" I know have a strong tradition of being able to make fun of themselves and take it with better nature than a lot of people. Many use the word among themselves as a term of regional pride, an expression of a strong, self-reliant people.

But that doesn't mean they don't feel the sting when some damn elitist politician calls them that, especially when he uses the "pardon my French" disclaimer, betraying the fact that he doesn't mean it the way they use it.

“Well the GOP is behind that website with the audio...”

They must have learned that "use their OWN words against them" tactic from that SOB Glenn Beck...Beck is behind EVERYTHING!

It's just not fair.

I’ve always considered myself to be an aristocrat, but lately, i’ve got this sneaking suspicion that i’m more redneck than I ever thought. At least by suburban standards.

Knowing Lee Greenwood had a country music career before “Proud to be an American” is a dead giveaway.

If any member of your family has ever laughed at a “Hee-Haw” joke...it's in your DNA.

Embrace your inner-redneck.

Joe Biden did this in Scranton 30 years ago. He was maybe a bit smoother. He arched an eyebrow and said, “You know, part of Delaware is below the Mason-Dixon line,” then mumbled some exit line.
