Socialism Is Theft
The American Thinker ^ | October 17, 2010 | James Lewis

All you fans of the Left will recognize that title as a twist on Proudhon's historic slogan, "Property is theft."

That's the personal catechism of Obama and his gang. Or, to put it more honestly, "Your property is theft. My property is untouchable."

Gimme that Air Force One. Gimme that trillion-dollar slush fund. Gimme that vacation in Spain at taxpayer expense. It's mine! The Clintons even took the White House silverware, remember?

Some people have a monstrous appetite for power and privilege, but they always claim to do what they do from compassion for the little people. Kim Jong-Il in North Korea is starving his people from love of the people. He's got a Stalinist propaganda apparatus and real concentration camps to make sure that the people actually go along with that. North Korea has the only permanent diet plan in the world that actually works. Has anybody told Michelle?

But forget Stalinism. In the European Union, the power class are so locked in that they don't bother with real elections anymore. The "elected" EU Parliament makes no real laws, and the real lawmakers are not elected. It's a big socialist front, a bureaucratic coup d'état.

What really kills me are the Socialists who rail against the evil greedy rich. The so called selfish capitalists. In reality the purest form of capitalist monopoly is Socialism.

Socialism Is Theft

No. It's not theft.

Theft is taking without the consent of the owner.

Socialism occurs because we in this country sit by and do nothing about it.

The Left steals our right to speak freely, our right to educate our children, our rights to free and honest elections, and our rights to our property...and we let them do it.

It is our passivity that transforms theft into taking with consent.

If someone comes into your yard and, as you watch, drives away your lawn tractor AND YOU DO NOTHING DO STOP HIM...that is not theft because your acquiescence (weakness) is passive consent.

It is a bit more complicated, though, because what would be dictators do is to begin free handouts to as many people as they can until more than half the population is dependent on that government handout to some extent. Then, propaganda against self-reliance and success is taught in school and lies are made up to promote class and race warfare. The day then comes when the dictator takes the tractor from the yard of one who owns it and the neighbor who doesn't is full of envy ginned up through propaganda and natural human nature and does not protest..So, there you go..Today they come for your neighbor's stuff..Tomorrow they come for yours. Ultimately, after all the “stuff” has been taken and redistributed, mostly to the ruling elite, they will find reason to have the population agree with the actual taking of the lives of those who are educated enough to know what is going on. History paints a very clear picture of how all that develops and of what the ultimate consequences are. America is on that road to oblivion..However, I think the time is not right here for such a dictatorship and I think the people will speak before it is too late.

I’d shoot someone who took my stuff if I was there. I can’t do that with the government because they have a legitimate, voter approved monopoly of force. That monopoly of force is becoming less legitimate as socialism spreads and both major national political parties become more corrupt (the Dems are much more than the Repubs, but the Repubs sanction Democrat corruption by ignoring and allowing it).

I think the whole idea behind the tea party movement is repudiation of that so-called legitimacy of the state.

It may take a second American revolution, but the power of the socialist state must be overturned.

BTW, when the government acts in a way that is in opposition to our Constitution, we have the right to rebel. That said, our rebellion may result in our imprisonment or death.

It is a bit more complicated...

Perhaps, however, if we are to ever get through to the masses, we had best "keep it simple, stupid!"

For prime example of what I mean, this video is a must see:
How Obama Got Elected... Interviews With Obama Voters

The stupidity...the abject ignorance of the masses is simply stunning.

Around third grade I came to the same conclusion about democracy that John Stewart Mill did. Why don’t the poorest 51% vote to take away all the possessions of the richer 49%? Politicians are working to enlarge the pool of people who are takers dependent on the government.

The funny thing about the 'have nots' taking the property of the 'haves' (those who have earned and created it) is that about a year after having taken such property, it would be gone (having been squandered, wasted, destroyed, or otherwise lost).

And the 'haves' from whom such property had been taken would be also be gone...having moved to another country that appreciates their desire and capacity to be productive.

"But how is this legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime."

Sorta.

If I'm not home, and the lawn mower hijacker in question has purposely waited until I wasn't home to jack my mower, it is still theft, even if I wasn't aware, and didn't resist, but did not approve.

In many areas, this is the case with government.

Like an army of roaches, they've been stealing crumbs in the middle of the night for decades, and now we realize the entire kitchen is empty.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

I can't say I know how the law views a taking of this kind...but if you don't go take your mower back or file a report with the police, from a practical POV you have given passive consent to the act (i.e. it's not theft).

That said, the fact that we are ready to back the country from the scum that has been stealing us blind (by doing whatever it takes, up to and including revolution) is a demonstration that, however much we might be tardy in our action, we are loudly denying any consent to such taking.

And that makes it theft!

Theft is taking without the consent of the owner.

Your theory assumes mob consent translates to personal consent. If the mob approves a tax to redistribute my wealth to others, and I vote against it, it is still theft. It's also a form of slavery, since I'm working for others with no compensation.
