CA: Big Names Head to Golden State for Party Push

Some of the biggest political names in the nation are in California for one final party push three weeks before the election.

Senator John McCain was in San Diego Saturday, stumping for GOP Senate hopeful Carly Fiorina.

"My friends, I know what a quality and outstanding individual this is," McCain said. "And this person will never wave the white flag of surrender the way Barbara Boxer has tried to do every single time we have been in a conflict."

… Later this week, President Obama will continue his campaign support tour by backing Boxer during a trip to California.

… This weekend, former President Bill Clinton is making the rounds with California gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown.

… Meantime, Brown's opponent, Meg Whitman, is relying on Sarah Palin to rally support.

"Your next governor will have to make tough choices about spending and certainly she will be working in a bipartisan manner," said Palin.

Glad to see McCain NOT reaching across the aisle.
At Fiorina event, McCain doesn't hide disdain for Boxer -- she's 'bitterly partisan' and 'anti-defense'

Former Republican presidential contender John McCain reunited with his onetime advisor Carly Fiorina on the campaign trail Saturday in San Diego, offering a blistering indictment of Barbara Boxer’s record on military issues and calling her the “most bitterly partisan, most anti-defense senator in the United States Senate today” -- an assessment he said he’d made while having “the unpleasant experience” of serving with her.

“When you hear her say that she supports the men and women in the military, my friends, she does not,” said McCain, a former Navy pilot who was held as a prisoner of war in Vietnam for five and half years after his plane was shot down in 1967. “Because she has never supported the mission; she has never supported victory whether it be in Iraq, or Afghanistan, or anywhere else in the world. Barbara Boxer wants to wave the white flag of surrender and endanger this nation’s national security. It’s time she went back to San Francisco with [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi.”

Palin should stay away from Whitman. Whitman is a pro choicer.

BUt they both loved TARP and amnesty, so they have much in common.

Conservatives are going to get the screws put to them again and they just can’t see it.

When I went to vote in the last election, the polling place I had used for a few elections, did not have my name on their list. Was told that some California districts had added new polling places due to growth. They had no idea where I was supposed to go vote. So I just filled out an absentee ballot and slid it in their box. My vote was not counted for weeks, if ever. So this year I found a web site which helps Californians find their polling place. List is by county. Not all counties have the guides. I used the polling place lookup link and it could not find my voting place. But when I used the smartvoter link it found my new polling place. And it had moved a little closer to me. So all Californians should probably check to see if their polling place has moved. Here is the link. BTW - If there is a smartvoter link for your county, check it out. Lots of info.
