I suspect that their influence is a bit disproportionate though, because they are widely used as a source, even if no one reads the actual mag.

(However, these numbers come from the NYT, so, who knows how accurate they are?)

Dang! When I wrote for Video Games magazine in 1983, we sold 150,000 copies each issue.
