I also never said that being prepared was any kind of guarantee. It is however common sense to be aware of the world around you and plan accordingly.
Yes you didn’t say that but often when people use that line its because they believe that’s where it comes from.
Not triyng to antagonize, I understand the mindset you are putting out there, I agree with you as to trying to be prepared and not be burdens on others. I just go back to the Boy Scout motto, “Be Prepared.” Simple as that. Do the best you can. Pray for the best, plan for the worst. Reality will probably be somewhere in between.
