Christine O’Donnell: Why isn’t the NRSC doing more to help me?
Hotair ^ | 10/15/2010 | Allahpundit

Posted on 10/15/2010 9:30:28 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Presumptive answer: Because she’s down by 20 points and resources aren’t infinite?

O’Donnell’s comments in her exclusive interview with Fox News followed an offhanded remark she had made in her ninety-minute exchange with Coons: “I’ve had to fight my party to be here on this stage to win the nomination, and to some extent I am still fighting my party.”…

But when this reporter asked O’Donnell herself how she is fighting her own party, the Republican nominee was ready to cite chapter and verse. Tthe Democratic senatorial committee is running ads against me. The Democratic Party is running ads against me,” she said. “The Republican Party on the state level, or on the national level, neither have come in to help me close the gap in the polls. And my opponent, there’s so much to attack him on, yet the NRSC refuses to play, and that, that baffles me. Because he’s a – he’s a sitting duck. There’s a lot to go after him [on].”

If Coons, who’s sitting on a giant lead and set to host Obama and Biden tomorrow, is a “sitting duck,” what does that make every other Democrat in the country? The NRSC (and, by extension, conservative outside groups) are looking at tight but winnable races in Nevada, Alaska, Washington, Illinois, and West Virginia; they’ve got healthy but not prohibitive leads in Pennsylvania, Florida, and Missouri; and they’ve got longshots with a prayer in California and Connecticut, neither of whom needs outside money to pay for ads but who’d certainly benefit from any kind of boost. Given all that, would you guys seriously advise Cornyn et al. to pour money into Delaware — at least before you see some movement for O’Donnell in the polls? At AmSpec, Jeffrey Lord cites sources who complain that the NRSC is sitting on $6 million reserved for Marco Rubio. Given that that race could change overnight if Meek dropped out and endorsed Crist, keeping money onhand for an emergency ad buy in an expensive market seems like … a prudent move, quite frankly. And don’t forget that not only does O’Donnell have $4 million in her own coffers, but bashing the NRSC and the Republican “establishment” the way she’s doing right here is bound to squeeze a few more bucks out of voters in the base. In fact, is that what this is about? Just playing good cop/bad cop with the NRSC to rile up conservatives into donating to her again? Or is it a case of setting up the establishment as a scapegoat if she loses? If only the NRSC and Karl Rove had bought her a few extra ads…

I can understand a new ad buy if next week’s polls suddenly show her within nine or 10 points, but until there are signs of life, how is more money at this point a smart expenditure for Cornyn?

"I was furious with Karl Rove that night as well, turns out he was right."

I just checked the date, and it is not the day after the election yet.

Here's the bigger issue. We are witnessing a change of the guard regarding the GOP. It should be expected that some negatives may come out while we purge the GOP of the Rockafeller types, like Karl Rove and John Cornyn. We may loose a race or two in the process, but it HAS TO BE DONE! I'm still not counting out Delaware however.

Hopefully in the next election cycle, the GOP establishment will be replaced by main street Republicans who will revive the GOP brand.

RE: the pro-illegal immigrant Gov. Christie for president in 2012.

According to the ON THE ISSUES site :

http://www.ontheissues.org/Chris_Christie.htm#Immigration

“No issue stance yet recorded by OnTheIssues.org.”

Where are you getting the information that Gov Christie is pro-illegals from?

A big part of the reason Christine is down 51 to 40 in the polls is the temper tantrum Karl and the establishment losers had when she won the primary. The loser she ran against should have manned up to back the winner, but he chose to be a piss pants whiner. When he found out he would help Christine by running third party, he backed out. But all of that is establishment crap under the bridge. Win or lose, Christine has won by ridding us of another establishment mutt in the Republican Party. If the people of Delaware want a leftnut creep like Coons, so be it. I hope they wake up, and want more for themselves and this nation.

"This traitor probably cost her 10 points."

You're wrong about Rove being a 'traitor', he's been a wimpy moderate all along. He shaped the Bush Administration and drove it into the Grand Canyon. His idiotic strategies led directly to a Democrat held Senate and House in 2006. His "moderate" guidance ensured that Bush was disliked not only by liberals but also by conservatives, which of course gave us Barak Obama. Now, are you really surprised that Rove is trying to lay waste to Christine O'Donnell? Frankly, I never once thought this man deserved the credit that conservatives gave him. He always seemed like a weasely moderate to me.

Scott Brown will be the first RINO that Sarah Palin needs to neuter immediately after the mid-terms. He is going to be Mitt Romney’s designated attack dog in the “Palin is unelectable” push after the midterms.

Rasmussen now says she is behind by 11 points. That is better than I thought.

If she gets within 6 points, the NRSC will start kicking in more money. She is just a bit too far behind right now.

I will not bet against your analysis. Scott Brown is turning out to be a giant brown stain.

“Coulter’s latest claim is to back the pro-illegal immigrant Gov. Christie for president in 2012.”

Coulter has always had claws out for Palin, as much by intonation and demeanor as any express statement or objective consideration. I don’t the the animus has a political motive. I think it is purely personal.

He’d make her a great VP.

And not only in the “keep your enemies close” vein. He’d be a good choice for a lot of reasons (though a ‘female ticket’ has appeal too)...

Scott Brown is a RINO and can be neutered very quickly based on his Senate voting record. Sarah Palin needs to go after him immediately after Romney’s RINOs launch their first post-midterms attack on her. Palin should neuter Scott Brown before she goes after Mitt Romney.

Wake up and don’t be complacent about Romney, Brown, Rove, Schmitt, Coulter and Company.

I do understand your overall point, but it’s these very people who are currently being marginalized by the Tea Party.

I’m still very confident about COD’s chances of winning.

I hope you optimists prove to be correct, but I suspect the GOP is too far gone to be salvaged.

Brown has already pledged his allegiance to Romney. If Scott Brown is neutered by Palin, then she focus on Rove, Schmitt, Coulter, and other obstructions before turning her sights on Romney. Neutering Scott Brown is Job #1 for Palin, Talk Radio and The Tea Party right after the mid-terms.

But Coons is polling above 50%. Even if all the undecideds swing to O’Donnell, she wouldn’t win.

The republican establishment hates Tea Party candidates and other reformers more than they hate democrats.

Democrats only want to be in charge of the dirty, filthy, unconstitutional system by which they all prosper. Republicans still get the table scraps and can look forward to being in charge again some day.

Tea Party candidates are reformers who want to change the system and eliminate the power, perks and theft of taxpayer wealth that keeps the same professional politicians fighting over elective office year after year.
