Here in California, I’ve seen voter registration forms available on public transit (buses). There is a warning on the form that only citizens are allowed to vote and to vote as a non-citizen is a felony.

Funny, but that warning is in English only.

I’d jump all over this Way too passive over something that fundamentally goes to the heart of our freedom

The right to vote is precious and comes with an obligation An obligation to obey that which says who and who is not eligible

“But as a practical matter it is a non-issue.

Voters are already required to sign an affadavit of citizenship — it has exactly the same effect as checking the box on the registration form.

I think we can agree that the voter registration form must be filled out in its entirety in order to be valid — that’s a procedural change that ought to be put in place now.

As to your examples — they have nothing to do with voter registration.”

—No, my example points to an even *larger* problem of government agencies with inadequate checks in place and officials that may be breaking the law in other areas to help illegals. You assume that because somebody signs an affidavit, that that somehow ends the possibility of wrongdoing. What if they are lying? Who is going to go after them in a meaningful manner? Minnesota had felons voting in the 2008 election- Al Franken ‘won’ by 300 votes. And what if the officials checking the affidavits are breaking laws- just as they were shown to be breaking the law to benefit illegals in other matters?

“Colorado pays illegal immigrants unemployment insurance because a director at the state agency that cuts the checks eliminated a key tool designed to prevent payments from going to unqualified residents...”””’

State & Federal agencies are rife with persons who think they should allow illegals to do as they please.

Some are of Hispanic background & have a sentimental attritude.
Some are crazies who just think it is fun to stiff the taxpayers with illegals & benefits.
Some are being paid for their dereliction of duty.

ALL should be in prison.

FREEZE the current voting rolls. Consider them contaminated & quarantine them nationwide.

Require each & every voter to GO TO THE COUNTY REGISTRAR OF VOTERS & be required to present 3 forms of ID to register again.

There is no way to purge/cleanse the current voter rolls.

START OVER. NO ID-—NO VOTE.
No more motor voter activity. No ‘voter drives’ at the local market. NO ACORN or League of Women Voters or ANYONE other than the EMPLOYEES at the COUNTY REGISTRAR of VOTERS can take new registrations.

Each employee must sign the card, also, for traceability on bad papers.

Put some real penalties onto the actions of allowing non-eligible persons to vote & it will change.

It has to start at the office of every Governor in the country. They can demand that every county do an entire new list of voters.

NOT FUNNY!! Deliberate!!

Who is responsible for such voter registration forms? The State Attorney General.???

Geeee- that is Jerry Brown.
Don’t see him enforcing this requirement.

Thanks for the pings.

@JS93 And don't forget, all the good conservative minded folks in Colorado should vote for the American Constitution Party's candidate this year...

Tom Tancredo (click to name to donate/volunteer)

He is our best chance against Hickenlooper.

'Tea party' warms up to Tancredo - Third-party bid for Colorado governor gains steam

Do you mind elaborating on this? I don’t recall this being in the brochure.

There is an anti-WOT (war on terror), Ron Paulite, John Birch front political party called the Constitution Party, founded by Howard Phillips and which most recently ran Chuck Baldwin for President. Alan Keyes tried to get the nomination but they rejected him because he believes in winning the WOT.

I don't know if this is the same party or not. It may be totally different. Even if it's not, it may be that Tancredo doesn't agree with them. He could be on their ballot and still be a good guy.

I'll do a little research.

Yep, it’s the same party. I’m a little surprised. I just hope Tom doesn’t cave in and become a “palaeo” on us.

That I'm very aware of. Yes, the CP is actually against the current War on Terror and the occupation of Iraq. It's not anti-war. CP members are very strict to the letter of the Constitution. We demand all wars to be approved by Congress with a Declaration of War. We feel the current “war on terror” can't be waged without declaring an actual decree. That's impossible as terror itself is an political ideology, not a political body. It's akin to claiming a war on drugs and sending troops to every high school in the nation.

Keyes is really a wonderful man and really should have joined the CP. It was a shame the WOT issue was a sticking point. If anything the occupation of Iraq was and still is more of a problem. Military Defense is just that. Defense from foreign enemies. These kinds of issues can be resolved through careful review of the Constitution itself. Most CP members I talk to about this concur that this was probably more of a “we don't like the demanding nature of Keyes” problem than a disagreement on the platform. And as many may not be aware, the majority of members are veterans.

I'm not aware of any anti-Israeli sentiments. I'll have to check into the recent decrees and see if what you are saying is true.

You are also correct that Tancredo has joined the American Constitution Party, which is considered to be a member of the national CP.

Voter fraud is rampant in every single election in the nation and it always favors Democrats. We need to stop this crap. It's ridiculous that these people can influence our elections. I hope Tom Tancredo wins this thing, and gets this type of crap stopped in Colorado. Early voting starts October 18, so we should get out there and vote as soon as possible for Tancredo and Buck.

Colorado Early Voting Information

Early voting will be available October 18, 2010 through October 29, 2010 (excluding Sunday) from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

CP members are very strict to the letter of the Constitution.

In the Jeffersonian tradition. However, the Hamiltonian tradition is just as old, just as authentic, and just as valid.

I'm not aware of any anti-Israeli sentiments. I'll have to check into the recent decrees and see if what you are saying is true.

Now you're playing with me. Hostility to Jews and Israel is the foundation of "palaeoconservatism" because it threatens their national-relativist, henotheistic worldview.

I really do not understand where you are headed with this. Paleoconservatism is a more radical and political movement than Traditionalism, something the CP party aligns with. I believe you are confusing the two. Yes, the CP wants the U.S. out of the UN. Yes the CP wants to return to the Constitution. Yes, the CP believes in self-reliance and the return to the Western cultural influences that made the U.S. the greatest country in the world. This also means we don’t want the U.S. to be meddling in other nations’ affairs. We want to return to cultural values instilled into the nation by our framing fathers. We want to be sovereign, a far cry from the global “New World Order” view.

America can be an ally to Israel without controlling its foreign policies. I don’t know why this would be considered to be a detriment to our relationship. If anything it will certain help it moreso than hinder it.
