They will probably never find the body. The cartels have various ways of making sure there is nothing left. They have things that look human that work for them that think nothing of taking a body apart and feeding it to vultures, for example. They take the body and stake it down by the neck, cut the flesh open and then let the vultures pick everything away down to the skeleton. After that they grind the bones up until there is nothing left.

Here in Arkansas, we are a little more advanced in getting rid of bodies, ala "Dixie Mafia". Just rent a chipper shredder, back it up to a catfish pond, and fire her up. 24 hours later, the body is either fish or duck poop.
