First lady Michelle Obama was introduced in the University Clubs Cathedral Room Wednesday to a standing ovation from the approximately 200 donors in attendance.
She hugged Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias, who stood behind her left shoulder as she delivered her speech.
I am thrilled to be back home in my home town, Chicago, Obama said. I get to sleep in my own bed tonight.

An Obama gushing about someone not taking money from lobbyists or PACs is dubious praise at best.

Michelle Obama is a big supporter of a Chicago crook wanting to be Senator, what a surprise.

Noting how long she and her husband have known Giannoulias, a frequent hoops buddy of the president, Obama said, We have seen him grow. Sounds like mafia code for "he's part of the Family."

If there was any justice, she'd be sleeping in Fort Leavenworth, Gitmo or the Hague.

If IL elects this crook to the Senate then it should be against the law for anyone in that state to complain about “crooked politicians” ever again! When people say that I have to wonder if you don’t like them, why do you keep voting them in??

I went to college in Illinois and lived there for about 10 years. It used to be relatively Conservative. Not Chicago, of course. Now the thugs have taken over the state. Very sad. I remember driving home from work along Lake Shore Drive (toward my studio apt in Newtown) when I heard the WLS DJ announce that Mayor Daley had died (1975?). I thought ‘wow, that guy's going to lose his job over that comment’. Chicago has been governed by thugs for a long time. Too bad about the rest of the state. Still, downstate is pretty Conservative, just not Conservative enough to overpower the thugs in charge. Oh, yeah, there's all the Dem cheating, too. Think votes from the dead.
