Many states have begun to grapple with the issue of immigration reform in response to Congress’ failure to act.

Hawaii Legislature has turned the other way, contrary to impressions left in a new nationwide survey, possibly because of worker shortage or liberal leanings.

The National Conference of State Legislatures reports that state legislatures considered 1,404 immigration measures this year and enacted 170 of them, including 18 measures approved by the Hawaii Legislature. State lawmakers elsewhere adopted measures aimed to curb employment of unauthorized immigrants and to make it more difficult for them to obtain state identification documents, such as driver’s licenses.

These Hawaii measures, however, can hardly be interpreted as a crackdown on illegal aliens. For example, a Hawaii bill that the NCSL says “excludes certain alien agricultural workers” from receiving unemployment benefits actually stops forcing them to pay into the program “even though they will never qualify to collect unemployment benefits.”

A new law, cited by the report, requires all persons seeking jobs with the state or any county “must be citizens, nationals or permanent residents of the United States or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.” However, as of October 2007 Hawaii is among the few states still issuing driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants.

One only has to read and try to make sense of the policies on their website, note the reports of actual dealings FReepers have had with HI DOH, read the published reports of others on the web who’ve been engaged in attempts to get consistent and accurate information and actions from them, to grasp that they are completely unprofessional, dysfunctional, inconsistent and even contradictory.

It’s like trying to pick up jello to get a trustworthy conclusive and straight answer from what I’ve seen, and their history of past immigration and citizenship ‘ease’ and official agency laxity are well known.

God only knows what it will ever take to get fully reliable, accurate and authentic information that one could completely trust from them, but that DOES NOT absolve them in any way from the obligation to perform their sworn duties required of their government positions, professionally and accurately, under the rule of law, and to be held rigorously accountable for them.

“God only knows what it will ever take to get fully reliable, accurate and authentic information that one could completely trust from them...”

Video demonstrates that Factcheck.org lied about what DR. Chiyome Fukino said in her official press release of October 31, 2008. Also three other statements by the Officials at the Hawaii Department of Health, lead us to believe that the Certification of Live Birth, posted online by Obama is a forgery.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Iy8i61DmAg

Now, in regards to the lack of confirmation of Obama’s online “Certification” of live birth (not a CERTIFICATE of live birth, commonly known as a birth CERTIFICATE)we will hear objections that Hawaii was protecting the”privacy” of Obama by not confirming that the document that he posted online, mirrored the records Hawaii had of said document.

However, how would that defend Obama’s “privacy” if he, himself (people under his direction and control) had placed the document with the obvious intention to be viewed by the public?

And further, if “privacy” were an issue, he could easily grant Hawaii permission to state that, in fact, said document mirrors the document(S)they have at the HDOH?

“...to grasp that they are completely unprofessional, dysfunctional, inconsistent and even contradictory.”

It is a government agency. That is what I expect - particularly from Hawaii. Think Democrat. Think Government. Expect incompetency that borders if it doesn’t cross into evil.

BTW - did some reading last night about Arkansas prisons in the 60s under the Democrats, and the “Duke of Duval” in Texas. It is more than a bit frightening.

I’m sorry, but I think you must have intended to ping someone else.

Because, y’see, I asked for evidence supporting Danae’s claim that Hawaii regularly handed out domestic birth certificates to foreign-born kids back around the time of Obama’s birth.

Ladysforest, you suggested I viewed two videos that had absolutely nothing to do with foreign kids getting Hawaiian birth certificates, and STARWISE, you put up a 1000-word post that at least was on-topic, but still didn’t cite any evidence that Hawaii regularly gave out birth certificates saying ‘Born in Hawaii’. In particular, notice that none of the material you cited actually says that Hawaii will issue a certificate saying ‘Born in Hawaii’ to a kid not born in Hawaii.

So really, neither of you gave anything close to a positive answer to the question. Either there’s evidence supporting the claim, or there’s not. Either Danae is basing her claim on a reliable source that said that Hawaii regularly handed out such certificates, or she just made it up because it just *seemed* possible, and then she presented it as though it were an actual fact.

It looks to me like Danae’s claim is nothing more than rampant speculation, not actual fact, as it is presented. And if y’all had any evidence supporting it, I’d tend to think you would have cited it yourselves, instead of dancing around a straight answer or attempting to change the subject.
