Many of you have asked me to provide information regarding the upcoming elections.
Your elected leaders on the VEA Fund Executive Committee examined the records, interviewed the candidates and studied the questionnaires to pick the best congressional candidates for public education. Then, President Boitnott moved the recommendation of these candidates at the NEA Fund for Children and Public Education Council meeting in Washington. This year, NEA concurred with all of our Virginia recommendations. The NEA Fund recommends:
Glen Nye in the 2nd
Bobby Scott in the 3rd
Tom Perriello in the 5th
Jim Moran in the 8th
Rick Boucher in the 9th
Jeff Barnett in the 10th
Gerry Connolly in the 11th
Targeted Races are in bold. (Nye, Perriello, Boucher and Connolly) Targeting is done in races that are deemed to be competitive.
Members in the targeted districts may receive mail pieces and phone calls from VEA and/or NEA. While we do not use dues money to contribute to candidates, we do work to inform members of the recommendations.

What a bunch of sheep Republican teachers are who are forced to pay NEA dues so the union can endorse their fellow Leftist Dems every election cycle. You never hear a bleat out of them, when they should have sued the union long ago.
Meanwhile, the teacher’s unions cry about lack of money and having to watch highly-paid Administrators lay off teachers. At the same time, they are strong-arming teachers for donations to be used for RAT politicians. Self-serving unions who don’t give a darn about teaching children; the veil has been lifted!

They can always do what I did 1972-1973. Recognized then that the union wasn’t representing me but the leadership so I didn’t join again. I’m still teaching, the NEA is still leeching off its conservative members who are alway recruited mainly with the benefit of “we’ll be there for you if you’re ever sued.” I was told by a lobbyist in Washington once that in his opinion the best lobbying organization for their membership was the AARP (don’t know about that one anymore; tore up my membership there also) and the absolute worst for it’s constituency was the NEA.
They missed Krystal Ball in the 1st.
