Tea Party Republican and one-time congressional candidate David W. Hedrick pleaded not guilty on Monday to one count of fourth-degree assault domestic violence, court records show.

Hedrick was arrested at his Camas home early Sunday morning after his wife alleged he struck her twice in the back of the head during an argument.

Hedrick was arraigned Monday and released on bail. He is due in court for a pre-trial hearing Nov. 2.

If convicted, he faces up to a year in jail and a possible $5,000 fine.

Reached by phone, Hedrick declined comment.

No excuse for what he's charged with, but they will use it to smear the Tea Party and the GOP.

He's no longer a candidate. The allegations are less relevant than, say, Algore's exposures to masseuses.

News Flash: lame stream media smears will never go away. They are as much a part of politics as termites are a part of home ownership. Any such smears must be countered with massive retaliation.

Why is he no longer a candidate? Where is this, anyway?

Notice how his political affiliation comes at the start of the headline; when if it were a Democrat one would have to do a search on his political affilation!

The media is so obvious. And papers wonder why their subscriptions are down....

You’re right that he is no longer a candidate, but he has been used strongly in supporting Washington State 3rd Congressional District candidate Jaime Herrera.

Yes, the media will use anything they can to smear the right, so why give them more like Hedrick did?

Maybe he will be in court the same time his loser Dad is in court in Florida facing several charges.

All in the Family!
