No you didn't.
And in multiple manners you didn't:
(1) See the appendix of B. Carmon Hardy's book, Solemn Covenant: The Mormon Polygamous Passage. Hardy painstakingly details over a couple of hundred additional plural unions that the Lds church secretly solemnized between 1890-1910...many couples went down to Mexico to do that. [How dishonorable for Lds leaders...to say one thing publicly...and conduct themselves in other ways privately]
(2) Mormon leaders didn't tear apart existing polygamous families as of 1890. Coupled with #1, that meant that some "plural unions" formed in the 1900s were still intact as late as the early 1960s. So polygamous families who were mainstream Mormons were still known to around as of then. [That was hardly disbanding polygamy in 1890!]
(3) Mormon leaders say the 19th century polygamists are still practicing polygamy on another star or planet. [That's hardly "giving it up"...rather, it's simply "colonizing" polygamy to another planet or star -- if they exist.]
(4) Mormon leaders say if you have serial spouses even today -- and are sealed to all of them in the temple for eternity -- then you will be an eternal polygamist. [That's hardly "giving it up" even among contemporary Mormons!]
(5) Lds "apostle" Bruce McConkie says that polygamy will be re-instated when the Mormon jesus returns. [So Lds are "giving it up" on earth...only to bring it back, eh] See the appendix of B. Carmon Hardy's book, Solemn Covenant.
Look Colofornian I am not debating this with you. Like liberals you will define history the way you want and that is fine. Live in your bubble. It will help you stay bitter and ignorant of facts concerning Mormons.
