Why Europe Still Does Not Get Islam
The Canada Free Press ^ | 10-5-2010 | Daniel Greenfield

Posted on 10/09/2010 1:26:53 PM PDT by Olympiad Fisherman

The Islamic problem is not merely a clash of cultures, but also a clash of civilizations. Had it been merely a clash of cultures, Europe would only be in the same boat as America. Troubled, but not immediately fatal. Instead Europe is facing a clash of civilizations. The cultural and religious dimensions of the conflict underlie a larger perception on the Muslim side, that they are fighting to expand the borders of the Muslim East, rather than trying to be accepted in the Christian West.

As Americans are blinded to the dangers of Islam by their experience with multiculturalism, Europeans are blinded to the dangers of Islam by their inexperience with multiculturalism. Both make the mistake of assuming that Islamic violence is part of the multicultural norm, rather than the resumption of an old invasion of Europe ...

With all due respect to Canada Free Press which I think is a fine media/commentary outlet, Canada doesn’t get it either, nor the US.

An trenchant analysis of the Muslim invasion of Europe by Daniel Greenfield. Lots of astute observations such as this:

"And when Europe crumbles, and Israel is destroyed, America will stand alone. Culturally and politically isolated among an increasingly Muslim and Marxist Third World, and resentful rival superpowers, Russia and China. And then it will have a desperate choice between fighting for itself, or surrendering to the cultural oblivion tugging at it right now."

The problem has to do with a serious philosophical misunderstanding between Western civilization and Islam. The former believe that reason is the answer to conflicts. Islam, just as the Nazis, were irrationalists. Irrationalism does not mean that those people could not make rational arguments, but that they put little importance to reason. Islam is antithetical to liberal democratic ideas, and it is based upon a faith that rejects reason. You do not do something because it is reasonable, but you do it because Mohamed or Allah told you to do it. For what it is worth, the most popular philosopher in Turkey is Nietzsche, and Nietzsche was the grandfather of the Nazis.

It’s the 3rd Muslim Expansion, but few seem to be aware of it.
The 1st was during the lifetime of Mohammad.
The 2nd was the conquest of Europe – Spain, parts of France and Eastern Europe.
This is the 3rd Expansion and it is being carried out the same way, massive Muslim immigration followed by Islamic Law and military invasion.

The former believe that reason is the answer to conflicts.

What reason can one give for this irrational belief? How is it that these devotees of reason can fail so miserably to make a rational assessment of their own situation?

And when did the Moslems conquer North Africa, Persia, India?

You missed that one ~ BTW, that was LONG AFTER Mohammad was dead and safely out of the picture.

Stuff & nonsense. - Europe has birthed Socialism, Communism & Fascism, all in one Century & within that one century alone, not withstanding the thousands of years of open warfare preceeding it, also initiated and prosecuted two World Wars which killed hundreds of million of people and along the way, casually murdered over 60 million helpless Jewish men, women & children.

European Reason? snort!

Muslims were the 'cheap labor' in Europe. We would be in the same fix if Mexicans had been equally toxic...

Toxic greed is a strange thing - in the short run there's great benefit - in the long run - disaster. We weren't smarter - we were 'luckier'.
