RICHMOND, Va. As one of the keynote speakers here Friday at a state convention billed as the largest Tea Party event ever, Virginia Thomas gave the throng of more than 2,000 activists a full-throated call to arms for conservative principles.
For three decades, Mrs. Thomas has been a familiar figure among conservative activists in Washington since before she met her husband of 23 years, Justice Clarence Thomas of the Supreme Court. But this year she has emerged in her most politically prominent role yet: Mrs. Thomas is the founder and head of a new nonprofit group, Liberty Central, dedicated to opposing what she characterizes as the leftist tyranny of President Obama and Democrats in Congress and to protecting the core founding principles of the nation.
It is the most partisan role ever for a spouse of a justice on the nations highest court, and Mrs. Thomas is just getting started. Liberty Central will be bigger than the Tea Party movement, she told Fox News in April, at a Tea Party rally in Atlanta.

One comment. BS.
Laughable
Meanwhile, Congressmen and women have conflicts with spouses getting favors and contracts, or relatives getting scholarships
Yet the NYT sees fit to criticize Justice’s wife for political activism, well within her Constitutional rights.
Unreal
Guess this means Pelosi’s husband will have to get out of business. And Kerry’s wife will have to give up her inherited wsealth. Oh well.
Look at the titles.
The author is left of Modo and is just as given to Kneepads.
They’re not cheating fair! waaaaaa, waaaaa!
Ginni was also the keynote speaker at a fundraiser for the First Coast Tea Party just a few weeks ago in Jacksonville. Very personable and easy to speak with and definately not an elitist. She attended the event on her own dime to help support the group.
Did I not mention before that she is not a fan of Alan Grayson?
Not that again!
Rush talked about this earlier in the year.
The New York Slimes should have just printed the official seal of the democrat party with the article, the seal with the crying baby in the middle.
WAAAAAAAAA!
Wait to see how hard they cry after the midterm election!
Priceless!
How about Moochelle? She can’t keep her fat trap shut for ten minutes.
My favorite First Lady was Benjamin Harrison’s wife. When he died, and she came to the funeral, most people didn’t even know who she was.
This would not be an issue (with the NYT) if only the Thomas’s were liberal.

I Second that.
Most newspapers are just DNC propaganda with a little news for filler. You buy them for the classifieds.
If this means the Presidents wife needs to shut up and quit
telling Americans we are feeding our children the wrong stuff— If I don’t have to hear one more The View type rave over the
First Lady and how naked her arms are in them designer dresses
Hey If the mere politicians can prove Mr.Thomas’s wife has ever said diddly that would interfere with his ability as Justice let ‘em try. I’d bet they can’t do squat. I say she has the same constitutional right to free speech as any other Ameri I Can
But the activism of actual Supreme Court Justices like Kagen, Sotomayer, and Ginsberg is cool?
As much as I hate the DNC Times of Los Angeles (aka the Los Angeles Times), it has a few good purposes: the salespapers and coupons on Sundays, and the Fry's Electronics full section in the Friday paper. Otherwise, bird cage liner.
And ironically enough, what really turned me mostly against that paper, was receiving free copies of it right before the gubernatorial recall election in 2003, where Kalifornia was looking to unseat Gray Davis with one proved not to be much, if any, better - Ahnold Schwarzenkenneshriver. Most were wither puff pieces on Davis or his Lt. Gov, Fat Clemenza (Cruz Bustamante), or hit pieces on Arnold...stemming from - who else - Gloria allRED (h/t Freeper "holdonnow" for the term).
After that, reluctantly, I bought it twice a week.
But the NYT has no problem with Slick Willie’s international influence peddling while his wife is Sec of State? No, didn’t think so.
