Republican Ryan Frazier is the best choice to represent an evenly split district. He will help bring balance to Washington.
Colorado's 7th Congressional District is evenly divided among Democrats, Republicans and unaffiliated voters.
But its congressman, Democrat Ed Perlmutter, doesn't reflect that ideological diversity.
Since he was first elected in 2006, Perlmutter has been a solid vote for the Democratic majority in Congress, and has supported the Obama administration's over-reaching agenda. He voted for the cap-and-trade bill that would drive up energy costs as well as health care reform that will drive up costs, the so-called "card check" bill and the nearly $1 trillion stimulus.
His opponent, Republican Ryan Frazier, is a conservative whose votes may not end up reflecting the district's blend of ideological diversity either, but we think it's time for new blood in Congress.
We've long been advocates for split government, believing that America is better served when one party doesn't control Washington. Electing Frazier would help restore some of that balance.
At 33, Frazier is young, but he's knowledgeable. His grasp of the key issues facing the country has grown considerably since he first surfaced on the political scene.

send Frazier to Washington.
Wow - the Denver Post endorsing a Pubbie. I’ve been away from Denver for quite some time, but I always remember them being a fairly liberal paper and getting more so over time.
keyhouseraces.com has this seat as Likely D right now, but, races have been upgraded by Sabato and Cook in the last week, so let’s hope the endorsement helps and this race gets upgraded to at least a Leans D next week.
YIKES!
The Denver Post endorsing a Repub?
I’m looking out of my north window even as I type this, staining to catch a glimpse of flying pigs over Denver.
Yeah for Frazier. Voted for him in primary and of course will in the general.
Here’s his website if anyone is interested:

The pigs are flying...
I agree but the Post endorsement is a sham, IMHO. The Post is trying for cover since they are supporting both Bennet and Hickenlooper while doing hit pieces on Tancredo.
But thanks for the heads up. I quit taking the Denver Post because it’s such a lame newspaper along with the all too often bias and support of all the Democrat and progressive ideals.
I live in Ed Perlmutter’s district, but he certainly doesn't represent me. I have written to him twice regarding crucial House votes, getting nothing but automated emails directing me to his website, and bulk snail mail. He is tone deaf to his constituents.
I recently received one of Perlmutter’s bulk emails, which contained a survey. The question was: What is the best way to spur job creation?
I was given 7 choices, of which only “Extend all Bush era Tax Cuts” and “Other” were acceptable answers to me. I clicked on “Extend all Bush Era Tax Cuts”, and was immediately redirected to Perlmutter’s website. Surprise! There was another almost identical poll, and the only 2 acceptable (in my opinion) choices were missing.
The results of the poll included only those of the 2nd poll.
Why bother to poll your constituents when you skew the poll?
(Rhetorical question.)
Agreed. Colorado didn’t get into the political mess we have today overnight. It will take a bit of time to turn things back to conservative governorship.
The bright side is the tea party and 9/12 groups influence is forcing the state GOP to correct itself, or suffer the consequences.
But, that’s true everywhere.
