Rape (and a fourth accusation, by the way) is markedly different from sexting.
With Ben, rape was never mentioned or charged for that matter. As for additional accusations, without facts or evidence they are meaningless.

First of all, rape has been "mentioned" twice - and very prominently at that. There have been two other incidents of alleged sexual assault - one mentioned by the lawyer from Boston and another that surfaced in a police report.
It is possible, although unlikely, that an innocent man can be accused of something he did not do. It is extraordinarily unlikely that an innocent man can be accused of something he did not do four separate times.
You are free, of course, to believe whatever you want. I choose to believe that Roethlisberger is a serial offender who ideally would have no place in professional sports - but this is the NFL, and you can be suspended for all of six games after raping somebody. Hell, you can kill somebody and still play. You can be a convicted felon and be welcomed back with open arms. Blaming Goodell is laughable too - if he played "sex cop" for suspending Roethlisberger shouldn't we point out how he reduced Roethlisberger's suspension? For what? Not raping somebody else in the interim? Big achievement there.
