The Most Important Race of 2010 If Fiorina beats Boxer, liberalism will suffer a grievous defeat
The Weekly Standard ^ | October 18, 2010 | Fred Barnes

Posted on 10/09/2010 7:10:56 AM PDT by Palmetto Patriot

Barbara Boxer under pressure is like a reckless driver in traffic. She’s out of control and extremely careless. “You know, like, I don’t want to go back to the days when thousands of people died every day because they had no insurance,” she declared in a debate in late September. Boxer, as best one could tell, was referring to the era before President Obama’s health care plan was enacted.

If true, at least 730,000 people were dying annually in America for lack of health insurance. (To do the math, it’s a minimum of 2,000 deaths every 24 hours multiplied by 365 days.) That’s a staggering number of people who presumably couldn’t get life-saving medical care because they were without an insurance policy to foot the bill.

Boxer’s claim didn’t get a rise out of the questioners in the debate, a radio match between Boxer, the Democratic senator from California, in an NPR studio in Washington, and her Republican opponent, Carly Fiorina, at a public station in Pasadena. No one asked a follow-up.

Rather long article about a race between an accomplished woman of substance and a typical, shallow minded, lifelong liberal politician. Guess who's up by 5? Hint: this is California, after all.

It’s also the state that gave us the gretest President of the 20th century.

The lib’s lock is not quite so strong.

No...
You want to get to the day when ten's of millions die
because the health care system collapses due to
the government imposed inefficiencies

Or 1/3 the population dies because of the collapsed social matrix
And subsequent riots, starvation, and despair

Those who aren’t excited about Fiorina (or Mark Kirk or others) need to understand this is a war, and we’ve got to win back control battle by battle, over a period of time. There is a world of difference between a tough experienced executive like Fiorina and a limousine liberal like Boxer. This is an important race because it will signal a big change in direction. The next election can take us even further down this new road.

You make a good point, bigbob. I think we are at a stage of the game where if the R is there, we need to lend our support (even if we need to hold our nose to do so). As Churchill said, “If Hitler marched into Hell, I would make a favorite recommendation on Satan’s behalf to Parliament.”

4,000 unborn babies die a brutal death daily because of Boxer and her pro death allies.

Already there. I have my spreadsheets for the 2012 and 2014 Senate seats up for reelection. Next time is 19 Dems and 10 Pubbies with at least half of the Pubblies being RINO’s. We need to target all seats no matter who they are offering the stark contrast rather than shades of grey.

Fact is that the mean IQ of the Senate will jump 6 points if Boxer is shown the door.

Fact is that decades of union-controlled public education and far-left news media have produced the intended result: a California electorate that is hopelessly under-informed. All the news media have to do to ensure a Boxer win is ignore the race entirely, and they do. They’ve been using this tack for years and it makes it hard for Republicans, much less conservatives, to gain any name recognition or traction. But, hey, every night they have a segment on gay rights, and, lately, Whitman’s housekeeper.

A recent Field poll shows that the vast majority of Californians say the state is on the wrong track, and yet, they are poised to vote in more liberals!

As a lifelong Californian, I don’t have much hope for Fiorina, or the state in general. Do I sound pessimistic?

If we win, I am not sure we can hold it next time around. This is CA where the voters have been trained not to look at the names on the ballot, they just look for the (D) or (R).

I'm not so sure I'd tout Fiorina's "accomplishments."

I’m clinging to a couple stats.

One major on in my mind— in CT I’m told the republicans came out in numbers almost two to one more than the democrats.

How about California? Have there been more republicans voting in the primaries than democrats?

I think Whitman will pull ahead, and bring Fiorina with her.

Should Palin campaign for her?

She only cares about the thousands of snot nosed liberals who die because they refuse to grow up and take care of their health.

Babies, children, and ordinary people are expendable.

The fix is in, Boxer will win! Our Country is overrun with communists that have spent years working the system. Hundred of thousands of dead people voting.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT. We cannot afford, at any cost, to loose. We need the Speakership in the House, and the majority in the Senate. AT any cost. Otherwise there will be no bills to reverse anything. Thank you for, at least trying, to clue in some of the haters for silly reasons. Some Republicans are so dense.

LOL. Twenty points if Patty Murray goes with her.

I read the entire article and highly recommend it. Barnes is a good writer, and does an excellent job of comparing and contrasting the personalities and positions of both women.

He also offers a great list of Boxer's best gaffe's. She is stupid in a class all by itself. I suspect her staff has to mark her shoes “left” and “right” on the soles to keep her from getting confused.

I saw something yesterday that I have never seen before in my Ca. post office. I was throwing out junk mail and noticed some voter sample ballets that are sent to us lying in the trash barrel. I looked at four of them and two had Spanish names and two non Spanish. Then I looked at the other trash can and there must have been ten in there. Interesting.
