Washington Democrats are disputing a report that indicates they have lost some hope in Senate hopeful Robin Carnahan.
According to Hotline on Call -- a website run by the National Journal -- the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has canceled two weeks worth of ad buys in Missouri for the next two weeks.
Hotline quotes two Kansas City television stations confirming the move.
"Yes, the weeks of Oct. 12 and Oct. 19 have been canceled for the DSCC in our station," Sean Kellerman of WDAF-TV told Hotline.
The DSCC still has, Hotline reports, air time the week of the election.
Eric Schultz, communications director for the DSCC, enthusiastically rejected the Hotline piece as untrue.
"This was erroneous reporting," Schultz said.
Schultz declined to offer an explanation of the comments made to Hotline from Kansas City television stations.
"I know what our ad buy is," Schultz said.

This is funny. The Rats are pulling their money out of un-winnable races, but have to keep that under wraps as to keep their base motivated. Left-wing morale is taking a serious beating right now. It’s a beautiful thing. They are going down hard in November and it’s a great thing to watch.
Either that, or maybe not even the Democrats are buying the Carnahan "I am a political outsider who will go to Washington and stand up to Harry Reid" message.
The Rats are building their firewall. And she’s not part of it.
Reid is #1. With Boxer pulling away a bit, the expensive ads targeted for CA media market can be put into NV.
You watch in the next 3 weeks. They are going to go nuke on Angle — media, ads. I hope they are ready.
I always laugh at those who think they’re players only to find they haven’t even made it on the field, much less in the game. Did Robin really think they would abandon the media darlings of Reid, Boxer and Pelosi for a Carnahan? Money is tight everywhere and Missouri is waaaay down on the list of those who will receive a few shekels. Clair McCaskill thinks she’s a player, too. Haven’t seen her much in the photo ops and doubt she’s pulled off her teenage crush on Obama. She simply doesn’t have the gravitas “Mr. Cool” requires to stay hip and relevant.
I heard Angle is slowly pulling WAY ahead - and the RATS don't know what to do about it. Nukes bury Dingy Harry.
BRING - IT - ON!
HEY! That rhymes!
