This is not the Trenton that in 1789 erected a triumphal arch in honor of George Washington as he passed through to take his oath of office at Federal Hall in New York City. Couldn’t be the same Trenton, could it? It must be a different set of Trenton people then, for some must have lost their sense of decency in the “brave new world.”

This is Trenton, Michigan, not Trenton, New Jersey. I don’t recall that Washington was ever in the Northwest Territory.
