Actually, the worst layoffs occurred in January ‘09 as businesses laid off 750,000+ in anticipation of Obama’s inauguration because they wisely knew that this ignoramus had never run anything but his mouth.

So in other words, although she has been in charge of the big hammer for four years, it’s still “Bush’s fault”. Nice try Nancy.

863K jobs gained, over 1M lost. BTW, one question for San Fran Nan—how many of those “gained” jobs were GOVERNMENT jobs?

Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement today after the Department of Labor announced that the private sector added 64,000 jobs in September, marking the ninth consecutive month of private sector growth, and totaling 863,000 this year.

Wrong, you stark raving lunatic.

Nonfarm payroll employment falls 95,000 (Unemployment rate unchanged at 9.6%)

This woman is crazy. This statement is nothing but lies. If the MSM was doing its job she would be exposed as a liar and a fraud.

Even Pravda would be too embarrassed to print this. This spin is beyond desperate....it’s detached from reality. I imagine Queen Pelosi is feeling her grip on the speaker’s gavel slipping...

“Today's jobs report shows our private sector continues to lead our economic recovery."

Yeah, 'losing' is 'leading.'

What a deranged witch.

Add 800,000 jobs and the unemployment rate goes from 9.3 to 10.1. Sounds like fuzzy math to me.

I guess she has to put the best face possible on this mess but her incessant bleating about the Bush administration is now an embarrassingly transparent effort to shift responsibility for her own utter failure onto the only convenient scapegoat she can, with her limited intellect and imagination, come up with. The leftist congress in league with the lefist occupant of the White House have advanced policies and taken actions that have not done a thing to improve the lot of the millions of unemployed. Instead they have created such fear and anxiety over what will happen next that most private sector companies have either restrained their hiring or refrained from hiring at all because they don’t know if they will wind up laying off even more people as taxes rise and regulation surges to strangle free enterprise and further erode an already very weak economy.

The really dangerous thing about committed leftists is that they are so married to their favored fantasies that they will never admit these don’t work or make things worse. They could be forgiven if they tried something, failed, and then tried something different to try and get things right. But they refuse to do this and insist on just pushing even more of the same failed idiocy even in the face of obvious failure.

Here are some very insightful words/dialogue from Pelosi and Obama’s economic brain trust:

President “Bobby”: Mr. Gardner, do you agree with Ben, or do you think that we can stimulate growth through temporary incentives?
[Long pause]
Chance the Gardener: As long as the roots are not severed, all is well. And all will be well in the garden.
President “Bobby”: In the garden.
Chance the Gardener: Yes. In the garden, growth has it seasons. First comes spring and summer, but then we have fall and winter. And then we get spring and summer again.
President “Bobby”: Spring and summer.
Chance the Gardener: Yes.
President “Bobby”: Then fall and winter.
Chance the Gardener: Yes.
Benjamin Rand: I think what our insightful young friend is saying is that we welcome the inevitable seasons of nature, but we're upset by the seasons of our economy.
Chance the Gardener: Yes! There will be growth in the spring!
Benjamin Rand: Hmm!
Chance the Gardener: Hmm!
President “Bobby”: Hm. Well, Mr. Gardner, I must admit that is one of the most refreshing and optimistic statements I've heard in a very, very long time.
[Benjamin Rand applauds]
President “Bobby”: I admire your good, solid sense. That's precisely what we lack on Capitol Hill.
