Nonsense. He has been a Republican congressman for several terms. He holds what used to be Don Rumsfeld's congressional seat and his views are similar to Rumsfeld. He is not going to be as liberal as Jeffords because Illinois is not Vermont.

Besides NOT closing Gitmo (which Kirk has repeatedly flip-flopped on) name ONE OTHER issue that Kirk and Rumsfeld agree on, that KIRK hasn't flip-flopped on already.

Actually, Nancyboy’s differences with udas Jeffords grow out of the fact that Jeffords MAY be straight and Vermont, whatever its ideological drawbacks, is a relatively clean state. In Vermont, you don’t HAVE to be a crook to be a liberal.
