RealClearPolitics moves Senate to 50/50
RealClearPolitics ^

Posted on 10/07/2010 11:24:13 AM PDT by Pete

RealClearPolitics tracks the projected Senate make up with toss up races and without toss up races. In the latter case, they make an assumption on which way the toss up goes.

Just this afternoon, for the first time, they are showing the Senate races without toss ups resulting in 50 Democrats and 50 Republicans. There are 46 Republicans that are fairly solid and 6 toss up races they assigned to either Democrat or Republican.

The four toss ups going Republican are CO, NV, PA and IL. Looking at recent polls these seem pretty likely. The best bets to get 51 based on recent polling are WA, where Rossi was up by 1 in the most recent poll and CA where Boxer is ahead by 3 or 4 points but below 50%.

Of course, things could tighten elsewhere in the next 27 days and probably will. Connecticut seems to be slipping away but who knows. Also, I am not counting out DE given O'Donnell just started spending her $2,000,000+ yesterday.

Whoops. In the four toss ups going Republican, I should have said WV instead of PA. PA is very solid.

If Delaware or Connecticut go to the Republicans within an hour of the polls closing, the wave becomes a Tsunami and Washington, Nevada and California will be swept up.

Linda McMann body slammed the reptilian Blumenthal during the recent debate.

We have hope for change in Ct.

Absolutely. Those two will be the ones to watch early to see if things are really going to go crazy.

Also, I forgot to mention DioGuardi in NY. The last poll showed DioGuardi only down by 1 point and it was taken a while ago on 9/20-9/21 (although there is some controversary about that poll). I will be interested to see the next poll there.

The CONN debate was a victory for our side as was the California one last week.. will that reflect in the voting?

In a poll that came out today, Angle is up by 4 over Reid. Say goodnight, Harry.

Yeah. That race looks done. Toomey has been consistently up by high single digits.

If anyone deserves to win it is Rossi. He is sharp and articulate and should have been governor of WA.

Read an article in the very liberal Seattle Times yesterday and the ratings of the reader comments were almost totally anti- Patty Murray.

It’s not going to be all that close. Rossi will win by 3-5 percent.
