They’ve lost interest in trying to get the house but between the buying and selling of the mortgage the deed has been lost. She has a deed but it isn’t an official copy and indicates that she’s buying the house. The state is happy as long as the taxes are paid.

Its a mess.

Wow. That is very telling about the sad state of affairs.

You can pay off your house, and still not get title to it.

Without title, she can’t leave it as an inheritance, can she?

I swear, that is just evil.

I can attest to the fact the freeloaders are bad , but the banks are worse, much worse. I won't bore anyone with the details but I had a ARM with Countrywide, they offered me a 15 year fixed at 4.25% percent, I took it. I made my payments on time, according to the payment schedule, but Countrywide was misappropriating my loan payments. When I caught the error after I received a notice I was late, which I was not, they got defensive. Anyways fast forwrd 9 months later, BOA, which bought Countrywide settled my Federal Lawsuit for 10k and reworking of my loan to correct the errors on their end. My attorney was amazed when we got into discovery, the disorganization, the shady practices, the lying. We were going to go for the jugular and have the whole mortgage declared void and me get title on the house, but that was another 2 years and BOA switched attorneys because they sensed I was about to close in for the kill and I was not into being a mooch, I pay my debts. These guys are money lenders in the Temple
