We must send Obama -- and any Democrat or Republican who supports his "big brother" mentality -- back into private life is the change we must believe in to get our basic freedoms back.

Nat Hentoff is one of the last real journalists we have left, and a thinking — not blindly doctrinaire — liberal in the best sense of that word. If you are indeed a JWR_Editor, please let Nat know how much many of us appreciate his work.
Hentoff is a legitimate liberal but he is blind to the internal security threats facing America, and has been since the 60’s. He has refused to acknowledge that the Communist Party USA, an arm of the Soviet Union (in that time frame), and the Socialist Workers Party (illegally a member of the 4th International) have been our internal enemies and needed close watching. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have supported the SWP front, the Political Rights Defense Fund (PRFD) in the 70’s which opposed US surveillance of their illegal activities.
A lot more to this but Hentoff, who I have read since the 70’s, is still one-eyed blind to the threat from the Left, and now the Jihadists and their supporters, esp. their supporters.
