NEW YORK (AP) The Pakistani immigrant who tried to set off a car bomb in Times Square was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison, a mandatory penalty that left him defiant as ever and the judge who sentenced him determined to send a message to anyone who might want to follow in his path.
Faisal Shahzad came to court to tell Americans he felt no remorse about his May 1 bombing attempt, and he sparred with U.S. District Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum.
Judge Cedarbaum said her sentence was very important "to protect the public from further crimes of this defendant and others who would seek to follow him."

So he feels no remorse? For what? The assclown failed in his attempt. He is a islamic loser all the way!
To: jazusamo
So who’s he going to hang with in the big house? Crips? Bloodes? Aryan Nation? MS-13? I’d guess Louie Farakan’s thugs.

Exactly.
Further .. he'll be accepted and protected, maybe even revered, by the prison faction of Islam .. an infinately more violent in ideology segment than outside.
This guy may very well become a leader and imam to those that have just talked about it.
He should have been fried.

He will lead the 5 prayers a day inside the prison, request a toilet that does not face Mecca, and get his prayer cloth, his special meals. Wow. He’ll be a hero to those whose theology says we need to all do JIHAD to get into Glory.

Judge Cedarbaum said her sentence was very important "to protect the public from further crimes of this defendant and others who would seek to follow him."How will that protect the public? He'll now have the opportunity to convert and recruit among prisoners who WILL be released into the general population someday.
Solitary or capital punishment would be the best way to "protect the public" from this guy.

He should have gotten the death penalty... if we had a REAL American in what is now the White Hut... he would already be dead and the Military would have handled it.

Shahzad, 31, defended his attempt to kill Americans. During his statement before sentencing, Judge Cedarbaum cut him off at one point to ask if he had sworn allegiance to the United States when the Pakistan-born Shahzad became a citizen last year.
"I did swear but I did not mean it," Shahzad said.
"So you took a false oath," the judge told him.OK.. Try him for Treason, sentance him to the maximum penalty (a capital crime), and strip him of his U.S. Citizenship.

If you want to send a message to anyone who might want to follow in his path, strap him, live, to a large, bloated, week-dead hog and feed the pair into an industrial-sized sausage grinder, broadcast live on world-wide TV.
