Re: “private mode”:

A) Google still sees your IP address, and hence can associate your search data with that; and

B) No matter what your privacy setting or even alternative search engines are, your Internet service provider sees every single bit coming and going from your house. (Except for encrypted data....) How much do you trust them?

My IP uses proxy servers, and every time I come across one of those Internet gadgets that reads your IP and tells you your location, it’s always off by at least two states for mine.
