Conyers Has Driver's License Suspended After Bounced Check

DETROIT -- Rep. John Conyers, the powerful chairman of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee, had his driver's license suspended for a month this summer when a check he used to pay the renewal fee bounced, according to Michigan driving records obtained by The Associated Press.

The 81-year-old Detroit Democrat tried to renew his license at a secretary of state branch office on Feb. 2, the records show. Months later, state officials determined the bank account tied to the check had insufficient funds, and his license was suspended on June 30.

Conyers eventually paid the fee, and his suspension was lifted July 26.

Asked for an explanation, Conyers' Detroit district office responded with a written statement that said "a check was inadvertently written to renew the chairman's driver's license from an account that had been recently closed.

The head of the Judiciary Committee? What was it Nancy Pelosi she claimed she do about making this the most ethical House?

People need to hear about this...

Senility or incompetence from the 81 year old Congress Critter...

Too bad he may not have any REAL competition in his re-election... But I don't know anything about his opponent, so maybe I should avoid the FOOT-IN-MOUTH disease the Democrats and liberals seem to be spreading around...

Read the bills? Who has time for that? Or bank statements for that matter.

I remember Bob Davis got hoisted for bouncing checks back in the day. And Bob was a pretty good congressman.

Something stinks. For this check to bounce, he would have had to show up at the SOS office, write a check, show his driver's license.

Who actually believes a congresscritter would stand in line to renew his license?

Especially when it's so easy to do online.

Not to mention, how many congresscritters actually get behind the wheel of a car?

Maybe he had a senior moment and thought the old school congressional bank rules were in effect again.

If he got his reparations payment his checks wouldn’t bounce.

Maybe he could borrow some of his wifes bribe money and make it good.

Conyers thinks he's still writing checks on the House Bank, where overdrafts were the rule, not the exception.

Does anybody believe this slimeball does his own driving? His (now incarcerated) “wife” had a car and driver at her disposal as a city council member in Detroit.

No, I’m sure he’s got a well-greased seat in the back of a limo for his daily commute.

Everywhere conyers goes he leaves a slime trail. Maybe if someone leaves out a barrel of stale beer he’ll crawl in and drown.
