Chris Gibsons congressional campaign has issued a memo describing an internal poll showing the retired Army colonel from Kinderhook is trailing Rep. Scott Murphy, D-Glens Falls, by four points.
In a head-to-head match up, the poll found Murphy leading Gibson 42-38. The pollsters write in a memo: Among the voters most interested in the election, Gibson leads, 41%-40%.
The poll was conducted early last week by Public Opinion Strategies and surveyed 400 likely voters, determined by their self-rating. Dan Odescalchi, a Gibson spokesman, said the sample was 41 percent Republican, 27 percent Democratic and 32 percent un-enrolled or other parties. This reflects the enrollment statistics for active voters as of April of this year.
These results differ from a Siena Poll released earlier this month, which found Murphy leading by 17 points. That survey was conducted from Sept. 12-14, just as Gibsons first advertisements were coming on air. Sienas sample included slightly more women than men and had a comparable party breakdown. It polled 600 likely voters screened in a similar way.

A lot of people in this district are mad as hell about Obamacare and Porkulus. The 'mad as hell' turnout may win the day for Gibson.
Please also visit Chris's website. Chris Gibson for Congress. I have not been posting so much on FR lately because I'm one of the mad as hell people and I am trying to help our guy win. Colonel Chris is the real deal. His opponent is a Pelosi puppet.
Pray for our republic.
Given the breakdown, is this a majority Republican district?
This is the old Gerry Solomon seat that was also held by John Sweeney. Gillibrand (Dem) held it for a short while.
I drive through this district every day coming home. There are Gibson signs and bumper stickers everywhere. His name recognition has to be going up.
Thanks for posting this, got it today from the campaign
I think that Sienna poll was nuts.
The previous poll from AAF had it M45/G40
Finally met Chris in person this weekend! He IS the real deal.
He is our Reagan/Solomon conservative

We live in the district and are Gibson volunteers. This is a tradional GOP district which went for Gillibrand a few years back because our RINO congressman John Sweeney kept getting picked up for DUI. And once Gillibrand got in, her name recognition worked in her favor. Our current congressman Scott Murphy is a 100% Pelosi voter.
Col. Chris Gibson is worth supporting. He’s behind in money but has been working the district every day for the past 6 to 8 months..if you can help out, this is one we could take back.
Man, I hope it rains on election dayor at least in upstate New York And wherever else we need it.
It's raining today but we will still be doing some Gibson sign waving.
I did a sign wave for Chris on Sat..loads of fun!
Dozens and dozens of toots, waves, etc...only one ‘boo’
Funny thing, haven’t seen anything like that for Scotty.
With all the big $$ he got from PACs for switching his healthcare vote, maybe he can get some acorn ppl here to help him out, cuz the locals aren’t doing it for him, so far.
Did you see this...!
We had a great sign wave today in the drizzle! Lots of toots and thumbs up.
The Murphy campaign has no enthusiasm and few volunteers. This is a huge advantage for our team. The only thing the Dems can do is throw money into more advertising. This causes a shortage somewhere else. Our volunteer efforts cost nothing.
I am enjoying this campaign immensely.
Where did you do your Gibson Sign-Waving? I’ve been organizaing some sign-wavings in Columbia County.
Yup I saw it - I’m up to my eyeballs in it, in the Kinderhook HQ every day practically... also doing sign-waves, and doing D2D on the mean streets (he-he) of New Lebanon. 3 weeks and we kick Murphy’s sorry ass out of here!! Woo-hoo!!!
Congrats! Gibson won by a huge margin.
I’m curious, if anyone knows, is there a website to see how 20th district voters voted for Gillibrand and Schumer?
If they voted in large numbers for Gibson, shouldn’t the 20th district be just as astute when voting for/against Gillibrand and Schumer?
