Ummmm...in case you forgot, 74% opposed the Stimulus and they passed it anyway

And they are getting clobbered in the polls today for that. November will be on of the worst beatings taken by the Democrats in the history of this country. Once beaten, twice shy. After the beating they take in November, they are not going to have any strenghth left to pass anything even close to an amnesty bill.

Now the democrats are going to LOSE in November, but they see a way to GET BACK into power..They do NOT care about how mad people are...they care ONLY about power...they do not care that they will lose in November...they care ONLY about power.”

A badly beaten Democratic congressional Representatives will not even have the votes in the House or the US Senate to pass such a bill. Heck, last week, Pelosi couldn't even get enough votes to kill the Bush tax cuts.
Michael Barone:

“It happened late Wednesday night, so it didn't get much coverage: Speaker Nancy Pelosi cast the deciding vote when the House voted, 210-209, to adjourn.

That's significant because, by custom, the speaker ordinarily doesn't vote except on issues of special importance. And because Pelosi, who has shown impressive ability to deliver Democratic majorities on one tough roll call after another for four years, was scrambling to prevail on what is ordinarily a routine vote.

It wasn't routine this time, because the Republicans wanted a roll call on extending all the George W. Bush tax cuts, which are set to expire on Jan. 1 — even on those malign folks who make more than $250,000 a year. There were enough Democrats on record for that move to give them a majority if a vote had been taken, and 39 Democrats joined Republicans and voted against adjournment.

Pelosi had effectively lost control of the House. So she decided to shut it down and let Democrats go home and try to salvage their seats.

She and they will come back to a lame duck session after the election, which seems likely but not certain to produce a Republican majority in the House that will take office Jan. 3.

Pelosi is not the first House speaker whose career ended with abrupt defeat. “

If for the first time ever in this congress, Pelosi couldn't even get the votes against the Bush tax cuts, what makes you think she can get the votes for a far more divisive amnesty bill? Just keep dreaming of amnesty will ya?..you are gonna get the same clobbering you got back in 2007 when the McCain/Bush/Whiskey Ted amnesty bill met an ignominious and nasty death.

You may be right...in fact, I pray that you are...but you seem to forget that many of the so-called moderate republicans would go along with amnesty....the dems KNOW that amnesty is the ONLY way they can regain power..you are right that they a damaged goods now and are headed for a beating...but the WILL attempt to get amnesty...In fact, Obama may try WITHOUT Congress.

“Remember, the GOP establishment wants this also.

My guess is there will be enough lame-duck GOP senators that go along with this that there won’t be a filibuster in the senate.

The lame-duckers (on both sides) are looking for their next meal ticket. If this is the cost of the ticket, they’ll pay it.

It will pass.”

DREAM Act blocked in Senate

Senate Republicans blocked a measure Saturday that would have offered provisional legal status to some adults who came to America illegally as children.

Democratic backers of the legislation fell short of the 60 votes to move the DREAM Act legislation forward. Democratic Sens. Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Jon Tester of Montana, Max Baucus of Montana, Kay Hagan of North Carolina, and Ben Nelson of Nebraska voted against bringing the bill to the floor; Republican Sens. Richard Lugar, Lisa Murkowski, and Robert Bennett voted for it. The vote was 55-41.”

Even come Democrats voted against this stupid amnesty. They got the message from the terrible beating the Democrats took on November 2, that if they wanted to still stay in power after the 2012 elections, they'd better stop voting with the Democratic Party's insane far left. I was right and you were wrong.
