This newspaper has been among Eddie Bernice Johnson's long-standing supporters, recommending the Democrat for re-election time and again in her nearly two decades in Congress. Her work on behalf of North Texas has been solid, her attentiveness to water and transportation issues real. So it is with a measure of sadness that we find we cannot recommend her for re-election in District 30.
We have spent considerable resources and energy focusing on ways to "bridge the gap" between northern and southern Dallas in recent years and, as a result, we cannot look past the fact that Johnson allowed at least 23 scholarships that could have helped constituents' children to be funneled to her own family and associates.

If only the New York Times could take the same position with Charlie Rangel.
The NYT will never abandon the RAngel of Harlem.
What a welcoming gift. We are moving to Big D at the end of the month..
Welcome to Texas. You just missed the summer heat...it can be quite stifling.
Hmmm...a couple of hints: traffic on I635, also known as LBJ, is bad most any time of day and stay out of the far left lane unless you want to get run over.(Unless it’s rush hour..and you’ll sit in traffic no matter what lane you are in.)
Probably true, unfortunately!
Richardson runs a speed trap on US75 most Sunday mornings. Usually they target northbound, but occasionally work back down the Southbound side.

Good to know, we want to live in McKinney and I would work at Love Field..
As a former Kansan and now in West Texas, welcome. Can’t say I know much about Dallas aside from a few brief visits. Would love to live there but certainly wouldn’t like the traffic. On the other hand, the voters out here way out west make Kansas look like California....nice. No more snow etc. for the most part compared to Missouri.
I miss Kansas, but Texas has been so warm and welcoming. It’s pretty remarkable.
