All you have to do is follow the Mass Board here - I’m not voting for the Baker / Tisei ticket for that very reason. I’ll be writing in Lively instead. You’re singing to the choir here.
That said I’m not going to war with fellow Mass FRs who are voting for Baker because I understand they feel it’s Baker vs Patrick, hopefully we’ll have an actual choice next time around as people wake up - and imo they are. You’re so very right about the MassGOP.
My main goal is for folks to look at issues with ALL the facts on the table and it’s not helpful nor truthful when other folks in this thread claim Howie Carr as being in the liberal camp. That’s just silly & from my point of view deceitful.
The problem I have with Howie is his playing cheerleader for Baker and over-the-top bashing of Cahill (whom I endorsed, if only because he is the most Conservative of the 3 major candidates running and won’t ruin the GOP from the inside like the 4 prior RINO Governors have). Baker is a liberal, and were he a Democrat, I think Howie would be ripping him to shreds, but only because he’s wearing an “R” that Howie is giving him a pass (and odd, since Howie wasn’t exactly a big cheerleader for Kerry Healey, who got royally screwed over by Slick Willard after he insisted on foisting her on the Lt Gov slot over the infinitely more qualified Jim Rappaport). Just a very poor show on Howie’s part, and it’s one reason why I (and Dio) are registering extreme disappointment with him. Even if Baker wins, it’s a pyrhhic victory, and I believe will ultimately leave the party (and Conservatism) in even more dire straits than Slick Willard left it (as if there is much room to leave it worse off).
