Treasurer’s ‘outsider’ claim is Cahill-arious
Tim-foolery
By Howie Carr | Sunday, October 3, 2010 | http://www.bostonherald.com | Columnists

The late Tim Cahill keeps saying he’s an “outsider” - it’s like a death rattle in his doomed campaign. Outsider, outsider . . .

Yeah, right. Just ask Democrat Rep. Garrett Bradley, the Hingham hack who is thisclose to Cahill. How tight are they? Together they collected $94,000 from a New York law firm that has represented the treasurer in lawsuits.

Tim, the lifelong Democrat now masquerading as an independent, collected $58,500 in campaign contributions from people connected to the firm of Labaton Sucharow LLP. Bradley took in $35,500 from the same outfit between 2005 and 2008. Bradley last year told a reporter that the contributions from The Outsider’s law firm were a result of “friendship.”

That reporter wasn’t me, by the way. Last week I placed multiple calls to Bradley’s law office, his State House office, his district office and his Hingham home. None were returned.

I wanted to ask Rep. Bradley about one Chester S. Smith II. Amazingly, he’s on the state payroll, as is Mrs. Garrett Bradley, age 39. She’s an assistant DA working in Plymouth county - $47,502 a year.

When you run hack Heather Bradley’s name on various people-finder sites on the Internet, Chester S. Smith II comes back connected to her. In 2003, at the age of 60, just after Tim Cahill was elected treasurer, Chester S. was hired at the Lottery as a “sales representative.” He now makes $59,196.30 a year. Another nationwide search!

I called Chester S. Smith II’s home twice. The woman who answered the phone hung up on me as soon as I identified myself. Too bad. I wanted to ask “Chet” if he was any relation to a second Chester Smith on the state payroll. All I know about that Chester is that he works in the probation department - which used to be run by a guy from Quincy whose wife and daughter happen to work for a certain “outsider” named Cahill.

Rep. Bradley is a made member of the white-collar crime family known as “House leadership.” He even has one of those phony-baloney titles that were invented by former House Speaker Felon Finneran before he pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice charges in a racist gerrymandering scheme. Last year Bradley collected $80,343.25 as “first division chair,” whatever that means. Thanks, Felon!

Bradley’s campaign treasurer is Jack Linskey, age 72, and he has a 41-year-old son named Adam who has contributed at least $200 to the “first division chair” over the years. Would you care to guess the name of the politician who employs Adam Linskey?

(Hint: He’s an “outsider.”)

That’s right, Adam Linskey is listed on Treasurer Cahill’s payroll as a “project assistant” for $19,289 - not much, but as you may have noticed, the economy is in a tailspin for everybody except Democrat hacks.

Garrett Bradley’s brother Michael used to have an $80,000 hack sinecure at the Division of Industrial Accidents. And when the despicable ex-Transportation secretary Jim Aloisi needed a place to dump his sister Carol, Garrett Bradley raced to the rescue with a hack job in his office.

You can see why Bradley and Cahill are such great pals. They’re both outsiders. Tim, as we know, is going to be very outside next January, when his term expires. Now Bradley has an opponent, Tim Finnerty, a Hingham Republican who actually works for a living. Gulp. You can see why Rep. Bradley has gone on the lam.

Give me a call, Garrett. I’m pretty sure you have my number.

Howie was on a roll ripping Cahill on his show Friday. Too bad we don’t have someone who can do what Howie does up here in Maine.

Joe Druce, who murdered convicted pedophile priest John Geoghan in prison, is getting married!

http://bostonherald.com/news/regional/view/20101005geoghan_killer_poised_to_marry/srvc=home&position=1

>>It could be wedding bells for one of the state’s most notorious murderers, as a South Carolina woman is planning to say “I do” to pedophile priest killer Joe Druce - if prison officials approve the lockup lovers’ big house bonds of matrimony.

Shirl Borden, a Christian minister and Air Force veteran who has helped Druce in his many legal wranglings, said the man convicted of killing priest-turned-perv John Geoghan proposed and she’s decided to take the plunge.

“I took years to think about it and I’ve decided to say ‘Yes,’ ” Borden told the Herald. “I fell in love with him because he’s a nice guy and he’s honest as far as I know. I’ve never caught him in a lie.”
(snip)
>>Druce was not available for comment. His mom, Donna Druce, said she knew her son was engaged to Borden but was unsure when they might get married. “If it makes him happy, then I’m happy,” Donna Druce said. “He’s had a miserable life. If this is going to eke him out a little happiness, then why not?”

Wed column ping (also as you may have heard, the wife of the Congressman from my district, John Tierney, will plead guilty to tax charges...)

Steve Grossman’s PAC of ruffians, cheats and dolts
By Howie Carr | Wednesday, October 6, 2010 | http://www.bostonherald.com | Columnists

Steve Grossman never met a sleazy Democrat pol he didn’t love. How much does the candidate for treasurer love dodgy Democrats? About $1.5 million worth of contributions over the past 30 years.

It’s not quite accurate to say that as far as Grossman is concerned, if you’re indicted, you’re invited. But . . . but here are some of Grossman’s dearest Democrat pals:

# Sal DiMasi, House speaker from the North End, now awaiting trial on charges of accepting $57,000 in bribes: $500. Also, another $500 to DiMasi’s PAC.

# Dianne Wilkerson, former state senator from Roxbury, pleaded guilty to eight counts of attempted extortion after being videotaped stuffing G-man cash into her bra: $750. Will be sentenced to prison later this fall.

# John Buonomo, reprobate ex-probate registrar of Middlesex County, imprisoned at the Billerica House of Correction: $1,000.

# Rep. Robert Spellane of Worcester, sleazy philandering lameduck hack, a coatholder for convicted felon Speaker Tom “Felon” Finneran: $700.

# Rep. Antonio F.D. Cabral, also known as Rep. AFDC for his rabid support of gimme girls and guys, once had an $11,000 lien placed on his house for unpaid taxes: $500.

# Haitian-born ex-Rep. Marie St. Fleur, a serial tax deadbeat: $1,750.

# Rep. David Linsky of Natick, another non-filer of income taxes: $500.

# Tim Cahill, straw candidate in the governor’s race for Deval Patrick: $3,000. Gov. Patrick, Cahill’s boss, who over the weekend called Timmy to tell him to “keep your chin up,” collected $1,000 from Grossman.

# Attorney General Martha “Marsha” Coakley, the state’s chief law-enforcement officer, who says, “Technically, it is not illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts”: $1,000.

I called Grossman’s campaign and asked if he could give me a few words on each of the above statesmen. Instead, they responded with this thin gruel: “Steve’s donations to political candidates are a matter of public record. He is proud of the support he has givenboth charitable and political causes . . .”

Takeaway word: proud. But at least they gave me a statement. The problem, though, is that I have no state campaign records pre-2001. So I asked the campaign: Did Steve donate to the other two crooked House speakers - convicted felons Good Time Charlie Flaherty and “Felon” Finneran? I also asked about whether he gave to ex-Senate president Billy “the Corrupt Midget” Bulger.

That was the last I heard from Grossman’s outfit.

To: Diogenesis; All

You truly are a LOON!

Howie and many here would gladly vote to have Romney back as governor, yet wouldn’t vote for him as president (I’m fairly sure Howie has stated this).

Howie is totally against “RomneyCare”

I’m fairly sure WRKO is pulling for Baker these days.

The Globe supports neither Romney, Baker, or any other Republican. They never have.

Again you remain a LOON, and our very own VILLAGE IDIOT!

Furthermore after doing some checking (perhaps you might consider doing just that on occasion);

Past Boston Globe endorsements include:

Barack Obama (D) over John McCain (R)

Deval Patrick (D) over Kerry Healy (R)

John Kerry (D) over George Bush (R)

Shannon O’Brien (D) over Mitt Romney (R)

Howie Carr cannot be considered a fan of the Clintons, Obama, Deval, O’Brien, Jawn Kerry, the Kennedys, the Bulgers.

To say Carr supports the DNC & Libs is an outright lie, I really suspect that you’re a Dem plant.

You can paint me a BOT all you want, but the fine folks here on the Mass Board know otherwise (CK the Mass Board, my profile). You do the Conservative Movement a GREAT disservice when you paint everyone in Massachusetts with such a wide brush. Especially when you invent facts.

Your facts are WRONG - CLEARLY WRONG. Howie Carr, the Boston Herald, WRKO are not in the liberal camp. Only an idiot would think so, imho.

Are you saying everyone who enjoys this daily thread, who enjoys Howie Carr’s column and radio show is a “BOT”?

Again, I’ve asked you this before, are you even from Massachusetts, do you even know what you’re talking about?

It’s a sad day when so called conservatives go around inventing facts to support their agenda - it’s something I always thought just liberals did.

Hi FM, I’m not defending Romney but here’s how the process works in Mass:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massachusetts_Governor’s_Council

The main thing is folks have to get out of the habit of voting (D) here at all levels to turn this state around (&and I hardly think it will ever be a 180 turn but we can pray).

Romney and Weld, Cellucci, and Swift have made some dumb moves over the years - I just think we’ll get there faster by aiming at the correct targets - the Mass voters.

I’m well aware how the process works, and how Slick Willard’s luncheon date at Ruth’s Chris was far more important to him than vetting a pro-criminal judge, and the blood is on his hands for it (just the tip of the iceberg for why he couldn’t be bothered taking his job seriously, only using it as a stepping stone to his obsessive quest for the Presidency).

I’ve probably talked and discuss the history and dynamics of MA politics more than any other single FReeper. I’m also aware that allowing the left to take control of the MA GOP is the reason for the “situation” there, and why I’ve consistently rung the warning bell. To say the 4 prior RINO Governors made some “dumb moves” is like calling the Titantic running into an iceberg as a minor faux pas. Electing Baker, another Slick Willard disciple and one of the architects of his disastrous reign, will do nothing to remedy the situation. Electing “R’s” isn’t enough in MA, getting control of the party is paramount, that’s #1, and after that is running center-right candidates for the General Court en masse is #2... after a solid minority bloc of Conservatives get enough of a presence to sustain a Gubernatorial veto, THEN we run a Conservative for Governor. 16 years of epic fail from Weld to Willard should teach us that top down doesn’t work.
