Maybe you should move to a state where they still put thousands of people in locked cages for this...
Then you can pay to jail, house, and feed them...
“leads the way down a pale green hallway”
Pale green now that’s a crime. She will have a hard time selling that heap.
Don't be an idiot. The people who want to smoke pot already smoke it. There will be no, or at least very little, increase in the people who smoke it, and the laws against driving with it will still be in effect. The fact is Thousands, if not millions, of people drive every day all across America while under the influence of MJ, not to mention Alcohol. Legalizing MJ will actually reduce crime, at least in CA. Take the money out of it and the crime will go away. The only danger is if the government taxes it too much then the illegal growers will still be making money off of it.
It is amazing the amount of people who failed to learn the lesson of prohibition. People drank more during prohibition than they did before or after. Drugs, all types of them, were legal in this country at one time. There were no more addicts per hundred thousand then than there are now and there were no crime gangs killing off people in order to protect their interest in the drug trade.
Want to know why parts of Arizona are off limits to Americans? It isn't because of illegal aliens per se, but due to drug dealers. Illegals are bad enough without having gangs mixed into the picture. Gangs without money are impotent. Drugs give them to the money to arm themselves and to recruit new members. MJ is part of that BS culture. Legalize it and you take part of the money away from them.
Long-haired hippie phreaks.
“If these same people had a wet bar with 95 bottles of booze, no one would think twice about it.”
So, your argument is that because one intoxicating substance that can ruin lives is legal, all intoxicating substances that can ruin lives should be legal. That about it?
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking; he can ruin himself with gambling. If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog is."
G. K. Chesterton
Booze is legal. How many people do you PERSONALLY know that start slamming down drinks at 9AM and keep it up all day?
I’m sick and tired of the gangs that fund themselves through drug sales. Yes, I realize that there are other drugs besides pot, but at least legalizing it will cut into their cash stream.
I’m also sick and tired of Mexican drug cartels setting up pot plantations on public and private property - with trigger happy attendants.
I’m also sick and tired of funding the Prison Guard Union so that these “dangerous criminals” can be incarcerated.
I’m also sick and tired of the para-military police state that the W.O.D. has created along with erosion of 4th amendment rights. Do a search on “civil asset forfeiture” and see how the system is being abused.
The W.O.D. has been going on for, what 50 years? Anybody seen any reduction in drug use yet? All I’ve seen is an increase in crime and government.
Prohibitions are always doomed to failure. The war on pot has been as effective as the war on poverty or the war on alcohol. These wars simply result in less freedoms and great violations of our rights. We all own our own bodies. What we put into them is our own business.
The reasons pot is still illegal has more t with protecting Dupont’s fiber business than the public’s health.
And the sign said long haired freaky people need not apply ...
I hope everyone purchases one of these grow houses. Let us know how you feel after you had to gut that house to get rid of the mold and rot.
“Several of the founder’s write in their papers about smoking hemp, it was the major crop along with to tobacco in the colonies.”
The word “founder’s” can only be a contraction of “founder is” or a possessive that refers to something that belongs to or pertains to a founder. Apstrophes are never, never, never used to form plurals, even if the U.S. Government Style Manual says they can be, the illiterate b*stards.
That said, do you have any citations from the writings of Founding Fathers to demonstrate the truth of your claim?
It should be noted that hemp was used to make rope and fabrics. It is a misconception that demand for hemp for smoking made it a major crop.
“And the sign said long haired freaky people need not apply ...”
I hate that song with the fire of a thousand suns.
Carrying your point to it's logical conclusion then, Fedzilla should take anything that "can ruin lives" under its benevolent control ... like what kind of light bulb you can use ... how many gallons of water your toilet can flush ... what you can eat ... where you live ... brilliant plan.

Just because one cannot totally stop the occurrence of a particular crime does not mean we should altogether stop trying to control that crime. At a minimum California highway injuries and deaths will increase together with our taxes to pay for the medical care of the victims of drug abuse. Overall drug consumption due to the climate of acceptance.
“Prohibitions are always doomed to failure.”
How about our prohibition on murder?
Nobody thinks that the law will prevent all murders, and the fact that they still occur does not mean that the law is a failure. The law has, as I see it, three objectives:
1. To go on record with society’s disapproval of murder.
2. To deter as many murders as possible.
3. To establish the grounds for punishing murderers.
Neither are laws against pot designed to prevent all pot smoking. Further, there does seem to be less pot smoking than there was in the 1970s. I couldn’t walk across campus in the spring without smelling it multiple times. Last time I visited my alma mater, I didn’t smell it at all.
I would guess that the huge jump in prices had something to do with this, too.
Yes, Hemp was used for paper, fabric, rope, just about everything.
And that is exactly why it is illegal. Because people can easily grow there own, the government doesn't like that. This is similar to the government making having Gold illegal. Anything the government cannot directly control, they outlaw it.
It has nothing whatsoever to do with 'protecting' society. In fact, it is quite the opposite. It is all about enslaving society and keeping the little people 'under control'. That is what it has alway been about.
“Carrying your point to it’s logical conclusion”
You didn’t carry the point to its logical conclusion; you carried it to a ludicrous extreme. Your “logic” would allow one to argue against murder laws on the grounds that fedzilla would go on to prohibit all physical movement.
I often say that there is no idea so good that it doesnt become a bad idea when taken to extremes. However, all good ideas are not taken to extremes. The government has not gone on from murder laws to ban all physical movement, and there is no reason to think that you and I would take pot laws to the extremes you name.
The leftards, of course, are trying to go to those extremes regardless of the state of pot laws, which would neither encourage nor discourage them in their drive toward tyranny.
It is worth noting that the argument you used here is one that the left used to topple rationality and take charge in this country.
“But anyone smoking pot is a ‘pothead’ and high 24 hours a day in some opinions.”
The current hysteria about pot is the result of a massive re-education effort that was begun many years ago. Thanks to that great educator Horace Mann we have a Prussian style public education system that instills obedience and is short on logic. The elites don’t attend the same schools as the common people. We are a controlled society but the controls are breaking down and it’s making some people uncomfortable.
They smoked industrial hemp, often called Cannabis Sativa, a variant so low in THC and high in CBD which blocks the marijuana effects, that one cannot get high from it.
Only Cannabis high in THC is suitable for Marijuana. The strain sometimes called Cannabis Indica is grown for pot production.
“Botanically, the genus Cannabis is composed of several variants. Although there has been a long-standing debate among taxonomists about how to classify these variants into species, applied plant breeders generally embrace a biochemical method to classify variants along utilitarian lines. Cannabis is the only plant genus that contains the unique class of molecular compounds called cannabinoids. Many cannabinoids have been identified, but two preponderate: THC, which is the psychoactive ingredient of Cannabis, and CBD, which is an antipsychoactive ingredient. One type of Cannabis is high in the psychoactive cannabinoid, THC, and low in the antipsychoactive cannabinoid, CBD. This type is popularly known as marijuana. Another type is high in CBD and low in THC. Variants of this type are called industrial hemp.”
