I understand your anxiety; she needs to start her ad campaign, but, the most effective time period for a campaign in the last 10 days before the Election. Why?

#1. Many voters (non-political junkies) still aren’t paying much attention yet.

#2. Many voters are fickle and will change their mind back and forth over a 2 or 3 month period.

#3. Many voters are “forgetful”. Hit ‘em right before they walk into the voting booth; especially if you have an ad you don’t want your opponent to have time to respond to (lie and deny).

Late campaigning is extremely effective for the candidate with the least campaign cash.

She must start running ads soon, and notwithstanding all the euphoria on this site, she is still likely to lose.

O’Donnell needs the ads right away if this is to become an issues campaign. If the Coons people continue to tear up her character, she will never gain any traction with independents. O’Donnell is strong downstate, but chickens can’t vote, so it all depends on southern New Castle County, Pike Creek, and Brandywine Hundred suburbs.

The other problem is that the upstate TV market (PHL) is already saturated with ads from all the races in PA and NJ, and it is going to get much worse. The downstate market is competing with a gubernatorial, US Senate and congressional races in Maryland.
