During his remarks at a town hall in Richmond today, President Obama gave a plug for a rally planned by The Daily Show's Jon Stewart, called the "Campaign to Restore Sanity," contrasting the the tone of the spoof news show with that of its "purposely provocative" cable counterparts.
"What happens is these cable shows and talk show hosts, a lot of them figure out that, 'The more controversial I can be, and I'm calling Obama this name or that name and saying he wasn't born in this country, that will get me attention," the president said.
Part of the challenge of combating purposely provocative shows, Obama added, is creating a way to remind Americans that the country is not as polarized as cable shows would sometimes make it seem.
He continued that most people -- like the people who will be at the rally -- have more pressing concerns than to worry about the the political beliefs of others.

Now why would Obama plug Stewart’s rally and not Beck’s rally?

No one is going to convince me that he has a clue what is on the cable news shows - only what someone else tells him. No more than Maxine Waters who tonight on the news said, “in watching Fox News, they blah blah blah”..
Their voters ought to tell them if they are spending their time watching FOX and other cable news shows, they deserve to be fired because their voters sure don’t watch them! If they did, they wouldn’t be voting for THEM!

After the Colbert fiasco, you’d think the Democrats would stay away from the fake news Comedy Central clowns. This rally is a spoof, designed to mock the Tea Party and Beck rallies, which are very popular. The people are tired of being mocked.

All the talking heads in the media "believe" he was born in the USA. The fact is it is the American people who are skeptical to his birthplace because they cannot "believe" it until they see the admissible evidence. Namely the birth record that shows the actual hospital he was born in and the delivering doctors name.
