Bush was excellent on the right to life. He was excellent in the early days of the war on terror, although he later got bogged down. Although that may have been the constant undermining of the war effort by the Dems and the press.
Bush was also a decent and likeable guy.

Also his proclivity to pick SC justices as reflected in his first choices: “Al” Gonzalez and Harriet Myers. Much in the vein of his old man’s picking Souter. Fortunately conservatives raised enought Cain to shame him into picking Roberts and Alito, two very good picks.
Bush got worse with time.
