who said he acted rationaley?

what kind of a dumb non sequitor is that???

Wow, brilliant. that sums up this whole story, He didn’t act rationally. yeah, suicide is not a “rational’ act...it is an emotional reaction. Yeah, so? that does not make the kid “insane “..many many VERY sane people who can be very impulsive, and do emotional things that have no other antecedent except what led to that action...IE, a jealous husband shoots his wife when he sees her in bed with another man.

“simply getting outed” for this young man IN THIS LURID WAY was enough.
It seems more like posters here just want to call the other students “pranksters’, rather than blame them for more than “a silly stunt that somehow made someone go crazy,”..or pulled a nasty “prank that made a very disturbed individual kill himself.”.

Pretending that the young man was not a homosexual, who had already filmed himself and posted stuff on a “gay” porn site, is ignoring basic fact. It is part of the picture.

Just because what the two creeps did was disgusting and wrong doesn’t negate the fact that what the young man did was also disgusting and wrong.

He had already “outed” himself by posting stuff of himself on a “gay” porn site. Why don’t people know this? It’s on these threads. There’s more to this story. He had already “outed” himself in a very public way as a homosexual.

And what about the four (it did say “apparent” as of yesterday) suicides in one week at Fort Hood?

That’s nothing? But one kid with some pretty lurid stuff in his life is big time national tragedy? Probably a “hate crimes” bill is being crafted with his name on it already.

Yes, This suicide is a family issue. Many of us have been rejected, berated, embarrassed, humiliated, “bullied” at one time. And worse, falsely imprisoned, tortured, impoverished. Life isnt always fair. Its how we deal w/it that separates the wheat from the chaff. This young man committed an offensive act against God. He committed murder upon himself. Thats the real crime.

He had serious mental problems leading into this incident which is why he made the decision to off himself.

How do you know this? You seem to be blaming the victim - suicide especially in young males is often a very impulsive act an unfortunately they are more successful usually than females in killing themselves first attempt. I'm sure the trial of these two Rutgers students will reveal if he had any previous issues but it's still not an excuse.

you have a point - the suicide rate among our soldiers is a terrible tragedy too

You are on a politically correct witch hunt...good luck with the mob.

Do you regularly blame the people around people who kill themselves for the death? For example, a teen gay boy who has a major conflict with his dad and some students and teachers at school before he offs himself - do you blame his father, classmates and teachers for the kid’s suicide and demand they all be prosecuted for the death? Suppose it is a politically incorrect soldier returning from the war who kills himself. Do you want an inquest to examine who may have made him off himself by being mean to him? Was it maybe his wife’s fault for leaving him and saying mean things before she did?

Who is the victim of someone who kills themselves? The person who did the killing is the murderer and the person murdered is the victim. So in the case of suicide, you do blame the victim for the death. Your emotionalism in this case is biased and immature in my opinion. I think you are caught up in a politically correct mob mentality. While what the students did was cruel, their actions can not be blamed for the mental illness that prompted suicide.
