Something I read a long time ago that a classmate of his or a teacher when he was back in grade school in Indonesia said. He was asked what he wanted to be when he grew up and his response was: “I want to be A president”. So, yeah, he wanted to be A president with all the pomp and adoration that he imagined A president enjoyed, but he does not want to be THE president of the U.S. now that he has discovered it’s not what he imagined it to be. Nobody told him that being THE president was hard work. He loves the campaigning because that is more like the adoration that his imaginary president enjoyed. He is a boy. He is still the little boy without a father, who longs for validation of his “self”. If he were not so destructive, one could almost feel sorry for him. Just my ruminations of the situations.
