300 pd test line. Amazing.

Just read that Tony Curtis has died from a heart attack. Another one bites the dust; way too many lately.

Hope you’ll have your picks done. I better check mine to see what I ended up with as I don’t remember after changes yesterday.

Have seen old pictures of these that supposedly were two to three times this big. Of course, they were old pics.

It’s good to see the big ones still show up now and again.

He said She said France vs France. All you ever wanted to know about Brian France in just 4,782 words. He looks like a lush to me but my only experience in determining that is the few Nascar fans I think I know...

I don’t like the thin wrists...personal opinion.

And speaking of limp-wristed, don’t look at my picks this week. What was I thinking??

Dr. Charles Manning on the appeals commission’s reasons for upholding the nascar penalty: “Everything they said was a bunch of malarkey.”

Besides owning company for 31 years, Dr. Manning also worked Mercury, Gemini, Apollo projects for NASA at Langley Field in Hampton.

Dr. Manning is “80 & a half yrs old” with a PHD in engineering. He has done accident reconstruction since serving in Korea in 1951.

But Dr. Manning says he told them “I didn’t test the right” because “the penalty was only the left side.”

On appeals commission’s contention that left & right rear hard points were high, Dr. Manning says both could happen in such an impact.

On there being not much damage to the Bowyer car (per Nascar panel), Dr. Manning also says his test showed the same. “You could hardly feel it.”

Dr. Manning says test simulated the incident w/6-10 mph push slower than at Loudon & still got displacement of 40,000ths of an inch.

On nascar telemetry not showing sharp impact from wrecker on Bowyer’s car, Dr. Manning said there wasn’t sharp impact in his test, either.

Wrecker-gate redux: Spoke with Dr. Charles Manning this afternoon and he doesn’t agree with anything in nascar appeals commission release.

RCR’s chances w/ chief appellant? Dunno. But John Middlebrook is a former GM exec. Word is, that Childress guy owned a few Chevys

Clint has a busy schedule between now and race day.
Tonight Clint is throwing his annual Fan Club Party. (He throws a big Barbecue at a local Indoor Go Cart Facility- they have both Show Cars there along with the RCR simulator) All free of charge to Fan club members and their families.
I'm told Clint is very gracious with the fan club and spends the entire evening there and even races carts with the fans.
Friday night he's racing at his local dirt track- Lakeside Speedway.

Just read that Tony Curtis has died from a heart attack.

I don't know how many times I watched the Great Race and my wife reminded me today that I have a copy on a DVD that I will watch during the next Nutscar race in support of Bowyer and RCR...

You’re up late; I’m in bed by 9:30 and get up at 4:00am. Don’t know which is worse but I’ve always liked the quiet mornings to get my head on straight.

Any idea when Bowyer’s next appeal will be heard?

BIL next door had a single campaign sign for a ‘pub up-rooted Monday night - first night he had it in the ground. He now has five signs in his yard w/a little notice to respect his property and opinions. (unusual here - quiet well-to-do neighborhood..minimal crime, etc) I wouldn’t have been as polite...chores today include cleaning house and the .40 caliber sling-shot...probably will take all day...it took a long time to free the slaves, ya know.

I’m in bed by 11 and up by 8. Whatshername is up at 5 and bed at 7:30. We are having great weather after the fog burns off. I hope you took advantage of the extra day to change your drivers...

Blew the extra day..I know the thread said “by Friday morning”. Hustling to get outside stuff done as nice weather ends tomorrow. “La Nina”, the girl, says cooler/wetter/snowier this winter for the Pacific Northwest so we’re doing we can outside in case we don’t see the ground for 5 months.

Gotta run, I’ll look for that time for the next Bowyer appeal when I have a chance.

From Jayski today:

Analyst critical of NASCAR's logic: The reconstruction analyst who testified that Clint Bowyer's New Hampshire Sprint Cup car was knocked out of tolerance by a wrecker labeled NASCAR's arguments against his findings as nonsense. Dr. Charles Manning of Raleigh, N.C.-based Accident Reconstruction Analysis said two tests of a wrecker pushing a car set up the same as Bowyer's winning #33 in the Chase opener showed the left rear end moved upward 40 thousandths of one inch. Testifying Wednesday on behalf of Richard Childress Racing, Manning told the National Stock Car Racing Commission that heard the appeal that his scientific study "clearly" explains the 39,000th of an inch NASCAR told RCR officials the car was beyond tolerances.
"They came out this morning and claimed it was negated by the telemetry which didn't show a very sharp impact," Manning said Thursday. "We didn't have any sharp impact, either. We pushed it easily. They said the visual inspection of the car showed nothing in the way of damage. Well, after we got through testing none of the cars showed anything of note or damage. They said the visual inspection of the postrace push showed they pushed very gentle. We pushed more gentle ... between six and 10 miles per hour. So what they said was a bunch of malarkey." Manning said the only way he can have more exact data than what he collected during the reconstruction at Charlotte Motor Speedway using a duplicate of Bowyer's car and a wrecker similar to the one at New Hampshire is to inspect the car in violation. He said NASCAR has not let him or RCR officials look at the car. "All we get from them is the stuff from behind closed doors," said Manning, whose company helped CMS win its case when a pedestrian bridge collapsed after a race in 2000. "I've been doing this for 45 years. When we go to court I've got photos and measurements. We haven't seen any photos. We haven't seen any measurements." NASCAR officials said they can't release specific data used to defend their case until the final appeal is heard.(full story and quotes at ESPN.com)(10-1-2010)

You too? I feel your pain. I’m just about down to “start and park” “C” drivers. If an “A” driver would get hot, other then J.J. I’ll be OK, maybe, or maybe not.

My psysic crystal water-dish is forecasting wild point swings in the league...luck will be key; it’s time to pay Miss Cleo a visit.
