Interesting. Apparently a long time friend of Ravi's doesn't think Ravi's actions had anything to do with Clementi's homosexuality. Unlike a number of posters who concluded that without any evidence at all.

Zhuang told ABC News he believes Ravi was excited to go to Rutgers and believes the media portrayals of Ravi as possibly homophobic or a serious prankster are not true. "I'm in shock, I didn't expect this to happen and I am just speechless. He's normally very nice and I don't think that this is a representation of him," said Zhuang. "He's very very open minded and he, like if it had been a girl in the room it wouldn't have been any different," he said.

If you're both intelligently creative and--let's say--committed to a particular set of beliefs, there are multiple ways to fit such a statement into your set of beliefs. Since I have no doubt that such a combination of creativity and commitment exists in this world of ours, I'll leave the generation of such ways as an exercise for the reader.

Maybe I haven't read carefully enough, but I'm also mildly surprised that no one in this thread has publicly commented on "he's normally very nice." Aren't they always?

I don’t know what point you are trying to make.
