How does any of that explain your view that an agreement between roommates is a “naive expectation at best?” Isn’t that what you said?

Remember most of these students end up being roommates to complete strangers. Would you expect that type of respect from someone that you really don’t know or someone that really doesn’t know you?

I certainly wouldn’t take that chance nor would most reasonable and mature individuals.

I got it from my college roommate and he got it from me. When someone makes an agreement with me I expect them to live up to it. Even when I was 18 and even younger. Sometimes I was disappointed but I still had an expectation that they would honor the agreement and I don't think that was unreasonable.

No one ever broke an agreement with me with the intention of humiliating me. I think it is even more reasonable to expect that that not happen.
