It takes an incredible amount of money to start/takeover a tv station, maybe we could backroll one small viewing area first (a small state?) and expand from there.

How about someone with a little money (Rush, Hannity, ...) hiring a Private Investigator to follow some of these media turds for a month or so.
Get pictures of them sh!tfaced. Get details of extra marital affairs, look into gambling problems, ...
