How would a big terror attack help Congressional Dems? Sure it would raise Obama’s popularity and take some of the laser focus off the economy but terrorism concern plays to the strengths of our Repub candidates.

Possibly, but if that is what they are thinking, I believe they are making a serious misjudgment.
Americans are already angry at Obama, see him as weak on national defense as well as incompetent on economic matters. If the Islamics or Dems think that successful terrorist attack will convince people to rally to the Presidential Colors and thus boost Democrat chances, they are deluding themselves.
It would have the exact opposite effect, because why American may be divided on Republican economic policies, when it comes to military and foreign affairs, they win hands down.
