Interesting news. Seems that credit unions overall have been relatively less affected by the current crisis, but here's one (USAFed) that was heavy into CA real estate and lost some bucks.

At least Navy Federal is a good institution from what I know about them. And since both serve the military it's a good fit.

The Navy Federal Credit Union gave me my first car loan.

My father opened accounts for all of us kids with NFCU. I still have mine, three-plus decades later. My current car loan is with them, and they gave me a very nice VISA card (I should use it someday, LOL).
