Does this have to do with the 119 degree temperatures recorded in LA today? Serious question. Shake and Bake?
The famous lady from Cal Tech said years ago that UNOFFICIALLY quake experts think there is a connection with heat and quakes. Emphasis on unofficially.
Some of the biggest happen in the very early morning when the earth is cooling. Unfortunately I work in the stockmarket and am at work before sunrise. I’m on the 25th floor.
OTOH, my family has lived in So Cal for about 150 years. No one has had big problems from a quake.
Wouldn’t that be Bake and Shake? :-)
I developed a theory years ago that I call the “bedspring effect”. I thought it up after hearing about something called earthquake weather, and seeing the results of a terrible earthquake in Nicaragua after a 7 month drought. The theory is that after a long hot dry spell, the ground water is reduced, the land becomes lighter, moves (springs) upward, opening cracks, allowing deeper ground water to slide into faults (cracks) and lubricating them until they slip causing an earthquake.
Speaking of 119 degree temperatures in LA, are people out there changing their opinions about global warming?
