Two words back: not guilty!
Nigell is the daughter of Nigel Lawson Chancellor of the Exchequer in Margaret Thatcher’s cabinet and the Vanessa Salmon heiress to Lyons and Co. She graduated from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford with a degree in medieval and modern languages. She was married to John Diamond with whom she had two children. He died from throat cancer.
She is now married to Charles Saatchi, a relationship which caused some gossip, as she moved in with him not long after her husband’s death.
She is entitled to use use a hereditary appellation before her name but does not do so. She declined an OBE. She votes Labour. She is not trained as a chef and got her start as a book and then a restaurant critic. She advocates wearing fur. Her background is Jewish but she says she is an atheist.
Interesting woman.
