One last comment for the day; Thursday will be techincall be the 50th anniversary of the last time our federal government spent less than it took in. The last time the National Debt decreased was the year ending 12/31/1960.

Ever since then, the national debt has increased every year. Even during the Clinton years, when the federal government reported budget surpluses, the debt increased. One year, it only rose $18 Billion, but it still went up.

Barack Obama is the first American President who was born after the last time the national debt decreased. That's his real legacy, even though the professional talkers and writers try to find other things to talk about with him.

Excellent post Bernard, the drivebys can talk about anything they want from education to who knows what. But when push comes to shove the country will tank from too much spending and too much debt.
